    Sunshine Legall Scholarship
Hello Community! My name is Zoe Davis. Thank you for the opportunity to introduce myself. Thank you for being willing to financially invest in the future, in my future. I am applying for this scholarship and many others in hopes of meeting my remaining financial needs. Any scholarships that I win will mean that I can live on campus in the dorms and have a food allowance. At first, I was a little fearful about leaving home. However, I have found peace in God that I will be safe on campus. Also, living on campus gives me the full college experience that my mother did not have. My future goal is to work with children and or adults in the rehabilitation field as a physical therapist, Sports clinician, or I'd like to become a registered nurse. Working in one of these three fields allows me the chance to build and increase my desire and ability of serving others. Working with the athletic community is special to me because I am also an athlete. I know what it feels like to need the support of rehabilitation. I enjoy reminding athletes of all that they are capable of. I enjoy the dream of one day working with them to rebuild their confidence and abilities. As a nurse, I hope to have the opportunity to show empathy, attention, and good bedside manner to my patients. I have always looked forward to seeing the smiles and true feelings of children. The way that I give back to my community is by volunteering with my family to serve others. Twice a year at my church, we have an event called Word of Faith Cares Day. During this full day, I have given back to the community by helping at the Salvation Army. Another way that I have given back is by handing out sandwiches to the homeless. These are opportunities that I have participated in with my mom. Outside of church, before the pandemic, my family and I used to serve the elderly by passing out meals in a program called Meals on Wheels. When I have the opportunity to live on campus. I look forward to getting involved again with my college roommates. Aside from my studies, I will continue to develop my ability to show kindness and empathy to others. I will do this by helping those in need who are on and around my college campus. Thank you for reading this essay. I would be a great choice for this scholarship. I would not let you down.
    My Brother's Keeper Scholarship
Hello Community, My name is Zoe Davis! My career goals all center around helping others. Helping others to push, challenge, do more, and be the best version of themselves they can be. I plan to do this by becoming a registered nurse, a physical therapist, or a Sports medicine clinician. I chose these three careers as options because of my love of sports and children. I started my athletic career before I could walk, when my mom started taking me to swim lessons. I was only 8months, according to my mom. Later, I began swimming lessons with my Kindergarten teacher. When I was able, I continued swimming until 9th grade on a competitive team. Once in high school, I tried out for volleyball, and I made it. I was so excited! My school enrolled me in modern dance. At first, I was not sure that dance was for me. However, since I had to take the course, I decided to give it my best, and wouldn't you know, I loved it. Later in the Spring I tried out for track. I was one of the fastest, and the 400-meter became my race. Additionally, I am now on the competitive cheer team. I enjoy cheering as well. My love for helping children came into clarity during my summer volunteering at Vacation Bible School. I believe that these are talents given to me by my Lord and Savior. Therefore, I would like the opportunity to use what God gave me. My faith plays an important role in my life. I am a saved child of God. I accepted the Lord as my savior when I was 11 years old. My mother was very proud, as she tells me she did not receive the Lord into her life until she was 18years old. So, I am changing the legacy of my family by coming to know the Lord sooner. I know that God has created a plan for my life. I also know that I am made with a God-given purpose. God has given me a strong desire to assist younger children and athletes with their challenges. Challenges that come up when injuries happen. I also know that as long as I keep God in my life, I have hope that whatever I go through in my educational career, God will light a path under my feet. If I am chosen to receive this scholarship, it will mean that I can live on campus and live out my goal of attending college in an educational environment. The money would go towards my housing and ability to live on campus. Initially, I was in fear about leaving home. However, the more I talked to God and gave him my concerns I began to gain confidence to leave home. My mom and I have been praying and tithing for the opportunity for me to attend and live on campus. Our goal is not to have student loans. If I am chosen, this would be evidence of one of the many ways that God answers prayers. According to his word, when we tithe, the Lord opens financial blessings that we have no way of imagining. I know that there will be millions of candidates. Winning this scholarship is definitely out of my imagination. Thank you for the opportunity to share a little bit of my story with you. Please choose me, I am a good investment in the future.
