Bio

I found my passion in healthcare as soon as I realized that illness and injury are common vulnerabilities we all share as humans. Coming from a military family, I found a sense of comfortability and fulfillment in the field of emergency medical service and volunteered over 2,000 hours as an EMT for my community while balancing my undergraduate education. I sought out every possible avenue to stay involved in that community; I became a mentor for novice EMT's in my organization, administered vaccines at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, and worked my way up to a Crew Chief role after just two years of service. This experience allowed me to appreciate challenges, think critically and delegate tasks under high pressure situations. Following my undergraduate degree, I decided to pursue a second degree and shifted career paths from neuroscience and behavior to nursing. I chose nursing to follow a passion for providing holistic and compassionate care to patients during their most vulnerable moments. My goal after graduation is to continue my commitment to community service as an emergency department nurse. This opportunity will challenge my existing skills and expertise in a practical setting where I can further build my confidence and expand upon my education.
