I am a driven and passionate student that hopes to pursue User Interface Development for a non-profit upon graduation. I have experience as a UI contractor and intern at various companies in the greater Austin area. I have had the privilege to volunteer and work for various non-profit organizations such as Lifeworks Austin and Georgetown Trail Foundation. In 2020, Lifeworks Austin was hit hard as many teenagers affected by homelessness could no longer commute to their facilities. I was able to design and implement a UI to allow these teenagers to access many of these life-saving services through their phone instead. Being able to apply my passion for UI development towards beneficial causes has made me sure this is what I want to do for the rest of my life. I am currently overextending myself significantly in order to afford college. I take more than a full load credit-wise, and work about 30 hours a week. Your scholarship would mean the opportunity to immerse myself fully in my studies and take a step back from work.
