Hands-on learning is especially important to me because it allows me to fully understand concepts by actively applying them rather than just learning them in theory. As someone with ADHD, I learn best when I am engaged, moving, and directly involved in what I am doing. Sitting still and only listening can make it harder for me to stay focused, but hands-on experiences help me stay motivated, retain information, and truly understand what I am learning. This type of learning not only supports my academic success but also helps me build confidence in my abilities. My experience in my high school vocational program has played a major role in shaping both my personal and professional goals. Being in a hands-on environment has allowed me to develop practical skills while also learning how to stay focused, organized, and disciplined. It has helped me discover that I thrive in active, interactive settings, especially in areas related to health, fitness, and helping others improve their well-being. These experiences have shown me that my learning style is not a limitation, but a strength that I can use to succeed. In addition to technical skills, my vocational program has helped me grow as a person. I have learned how to work with others, communicate effectively, and stay committed even when tasks become challenging. Managing ADHD has also taught me resilience, adaptability, and how to find strategies that work best for me. These are skills that I know will continue to benefit me in both my education and future career. This experience has strongly influenced my decision to pursue a career in exercise science. I want to work in a field where I can stay active and continue learning through hands-on experiences while helping others do the same. I am especially interested in supporting individuals who may struggle with motivation or focus, because I understand how important the right environment and encouragement can be. In the future, I plan to use the skills I have gained to make a positive impact in my community. I hope to work in settings where I can help people improve their physical and mental health through fitness, education, and support. I want to create an environment where people feel encouraged, understood, and empowered to take control of their well-being. By combining my personal experiences, education, and passion for helping others, I am committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of those around me.

One important social issue I care deeply about is the lack of access to health education and fitness resources in many communities. In underserved areas, individuals often do not have equal opportunities to learn about proper nutrition, physical activity, and overall wellness. As a result, many people face preventable health challenges such as obesity, heart disease, and low self-confidence. I believe that access to health knowledge is not a privilege, but a necessity, and everyone deserves the opportunity to live a healthy and balanced life. This belief has shaped both my personal values and my long-term goals. As a high school student, I am focused on growing academically and personally while also finding ways to make a positive impact. Although I am still at the beginning of my journey, I actively work to address this issue in my everyday life. I encourage my peers to stay active, make healthier choices, and remain aware of the importance of both physical and mental health. Whether it is through simple conversations, offering support, or leading by example, I strive to promote a mindset centered around self-care and wellness. I have learned that even small actions can influence others, and those small changes can lead to bigger improvements over time. In addition, I recognize that many people face barriers such as lack of motivation, limited resources, or misinformation about health and fitness. Because of this, I try to be someone who not only promotes healthy habits but also supports and uplifts others without judgment. I believe that creating a positive and encouraging environment is just as important as providing information. People are more likely to make lasting changes when they feel supported and understood. My passion for improving community health has led me to pursue a future in exercise science. I plan to major in this field so I can gain the knowledge and skills necessary to help individuals improve their overall well-being. Through my career, I hope to work in communities that lack access to fitness programs and health education, providing guidance, resources, and encouragement. I want to create programs that are inclusive, accessible, and designed to meet the needs of diverse populations. Beyond physical health, I am also committed to promoting mental and emotional well-being. I understand that confidence, motivation, and self-esteem play a major role in a person’s ability to maintain a healthy lifestyle. By addressing both physical and mental health, I hope to create a more meaningful and lasting impact. Through my education and future career, I am determined to help reduce health disparities and empower individuals to take control of their lives. I want to inspire others to recognize their potential and understand that their health and well-being truly matter. By combining my passion, education, and dedication, I hope to contribute to building stronger, healthier, and more informed communities.
