Bio

I recently completed a Psychology Honours BA with High Distinction at the University of British Columbia (converted GPA=4.0) & will begin a Clinical Psychology PhD at the University of Rhode Island this fall, specializing in neuropsychology. My experiences as a refugee inspire my commitment to improving access to evidence-based, culturally responsive psychological services for all. Alongside my research on concussion recovery, gambling biases, confidence in bipolar disorder, & refugee health, I enjoy mentoring aspiring psychologists & participating in equity initiatives. Outside the lab, I've been involved in building community within & beyond my department. I'm especially passionate about demystifying academia & expanding paid undergraduate research opportunities so that talented students with diverse lived experiences can help shape the questions we ask & ultimately the care our communities receive. I hope to build a career combining my passions for research, clinical care & advocacy to make neuropsychological care more responsive to the populations we serve. With your support, I hope to ease the financial burden of relocating, purchasing my 1st car for placements, & paying off my ~$50,000 of student debt. Some of my work: -My 1st-author paper on the illusion of control in gambling: https://doi.org/10.1080/16066359.2025.2581087 -Published abstract on metacognition in bipolar disorder (p.1152): https://doi.org/10.1080/13854046.2026.2652574 -Published abstract on predictors of treatment response in concussion (S55-56): https://doi.org/10.1080/02699052.2025.2507554
