      1. Electrical 2. I find it interesting, I like to work on projects with my hands, and my grandfather was an electrician. 3. For the past 2 years, I have attended an electrical technology class where we have done many projects and activities. This has included doing pipe bending, wiring outlets and switches, smoke alarms, also designing room layouts that include outlets, lights, smoke alarms, switches, and other appliances. We have also gained skills in using multiple different types of power tools including drills, bandsaws, impacts, etc. We are now starting to work with panels as well. 4. For the summer after I graduate, I am going to be working for an electrical company. After the summer I will be attending my community college. A career in the trades will empower my future in very important ways. First, it will help me get a stable and well-paying job, which is essential to achieving all of my goals and aspirations. Some of these goals and aspirations being, to become a master electrician, to be able to own my own business in the future, and to be able to keep a job that I enjoy for the rest of my working career. A career in the trades will help me achieve all of these goals. Finally A career in the trades will empower my future by showing me that there will always be a need for the trades and that the trades will be a good path in life for me. Clearly there is a shortage in tradesmen and its an opportunity for me to work with my hands and fill that gap. 5. An adult who knows me well would recommend me for this scholarship because they’ve seen my consistent dedication, strong work ethic, and passion for learning. They would say I’m someone who takes initiative, overcomes challenges with resilience, and always strives to do my best—not just for myself, but for those around me. Whether it's assisting classmates, volunteering in the community, or making goals and seeing them through, I take every opportunity with responsibility and heart. They've seen me develop through perseverance and hard work, and they know I don't take any opportunity lightly. I believe they would say that I deserve this scholarship not only because of what I have done, but because of who I am and because of my desire to be a force for good.

I am a senior in high school and I am going to attend a community college to hopefully help my path into becoming an electrician. The program I am taking at this college is called electromechanical technology, but it allows students to get on a path to acquiring their journeyman's license in the state of Maine. My goal after college is to become an electrician. I wanted to become an electrician ever since I found out my grandfather was one. In my electrical class at my tech school we had a pretty big project that even the teacher said was difficult, but I did not worry because I knew that my group could do it. As we started we kept running into more and more problems. Whether it was problems with the wire or with even the boxes we kept running into them. But as we kept trying our best it was all slowly coming together. After two classes worth of work we were able to finally complete the project and we were all very excited when it worked.
