I want to help bring about positive change that this world needs, especially at a time like this. I aspire to work as a professional historian, searching through the past for solutions that can solve many of our problems.

I was born and raised in a Christian household. Because of this, I have always had a passion for helping others. My family and I believe that helping people is one of the best things we can do as Christians. People occasionally find themselves in predicaments when they are unable to help themselves and need the support of others. Although each person's circumstances may be different, everyone shares the need for community. Humans want to be around other humans, and as a result, we want to help each other out with their difficulties. The fact is that we need each other. I have developed my skills by volunteering at various organizations in my home city to help the homeless and the poor during difficult times. In 2017, I, along with my family, volunteered to clean up a residential district in my home town and pick up trash that had been sitting out in the open for years. In 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, I volunteered to distribute bags of groceries to hundreds of families who were low on supplies. From 2018 to 2023, I volunteered at my father's church to help bring powerful sermons to people who were desperate for a miracle. The more times I volunteered, the more experience I gained in the process. I have a desire to help people. I do not like seeing people suffer from circumstances that they have no control over. I want to help people. I want to see people triumph over their struggles and achieve greatness. This passion has only grown stronger the older I got. I want to dedicate my life to serving others, like how my family has done for generations. I want to see the sick healed. I want to see the poor overcome poverty and support themselves. I want people to be selfless instead of selfish towards others. I wish to continue this journey of generosity going forward in my life. I also hope to pass this passion on to my future children as well. We are living in dark times. The world is full of crazy stuff, and people are freaking out over it. So many people across the world are fearful of the future and make rash decisions to get their way. Often, this leads to selfishness. Thinking only about our own needs is a bad way to live. A life worth living is one in which we put the needs of others before our own. If we treated each other with kindness and put other people's needs ahead of our own, just think of how much better the world would be. I want to live a generous life for the rest of my days, giving to the underprivileged and needy and trying my hardest to improve the lives of others.

I am interested in history because I love stories. I love stories about the rise and fall of empires and civilizations across time and memory. I love stories of people who started out at the bottom and worked their way to the top. I am also interested in history because I believe that it is the most important subject in the academic field. There are plenty of subjects in the academic curriculum that cover a wide range of fields like science, mathematics, nursing, and so forth. What makes history stand out among the rest of the academic field is that it covers practically everything. History covers the development of every facet of life in our modern culture, from the beginning of time to the present day. In contrast to other disciplines that investigate contemporary occurrences, history solely focuses on analyzing past events and individuals, necessitating historians to depend on historical sources such as records, artifacts, and oral traditions. Historical accounts are inherently subjective and influenced by the perspective of the author, meaning historians must constantly evaluate bias and consider multiple interpretations of the same event. History often involves weaving together narratives from diverse sources to create a coherent understanding of past events, which can be considered an art form as much as a scientific inquiry. Studying history provides crucial context to understand current societal issues, political landscapes, and cultural trends by examining their roots in the past. Historians utilize a diverse array of primary sources like letters, diaries, government documents, visual art, and archaeological evidence, requiring them to be adept at analyzing different types of information. I intend on using my passion for history to analyze and study the past to understand how our world has evolved into what it is today. I have seen much of the turmoil going on around me in the past few years of my life, and I wanted answers. Most other academic fields can provide little to no answer to many of the problems we are facing today. History, however, provides many of the answers that I am seeking. I seek to examine historical events to comprehend how civilizations have navigated moments of instability and decline and to uncover the strategies they employed to recover and emerge more resilient than before. History is the largest subject in academics because it covers millions upon millions of years of events and people. There is always something new to explore in history. Historians are always making new discoveries from the past. I wish to participate in that journey and make a difference for the world. It is essential for everyone to recognize the significance of studying history, as I aim to demonstrate that we must learn from our past errors as a species to prevent their recurrence in the present and future.

Throughout my life, I have been searching for purpose. I wanted to do something for myself and the community around me that would be beneficial to everyone. I did not want to sit idly by and watch things just happen. I wanted to contribute to society. As a result, I decided to learn why the world is the way it is and how we can make a difference and lead us into a bright future. We cannot say that we want to change the world and end up doing nothing about it. Words without actions are dead, but words with action are powerful. I am unique among my peers. Unlike the people around me, I have a very strong desire to get things done. I do not like seeing things in ruin, and I never leave a job unfinished. When I start something, such as writing a paper or working on a project for a class, I want to see it through to the end. If there are obstacles in the way, I am not intimidated by them. Rather, I find ways to work around them. Not all obstacles can be tackled, but I would rather try and fail than not try at all. Hard work is good, and everyone will understand how much I care about hard work. I have a very strong passion for history. History is my favorite subject to learn. There is always something so rewarding about learning about the past and discovering something new every day that you would otherwise never learn. I have been interested in history since I was in middle school, and I continue to be interested in the subject as a college student. I know that many people find history boring, but I do not find it boring at all. Most students are intimidated by learning, but I am not intimidated in the slightest. Instead, I am motivated to keep on learning. History spans everything from the beginning of time to the present day. There is always something new to learn. I plan to give back to my community by understanding how and why society is the way that it is. I want to understand the problems and civil strife that many people are forced to undergo in this day and age. I believe that with proper knowledge, I can search for solutions that could benefit all the people in my community. I could find solutions to end homelessness. I could find solutions to end income inequality. I could find solutions to help people overcome their mental health issues. The possibilities are endless. However, I cannot achieve my goals without the proper education, which is what I am working on now. Hopefully, by the time I graduate from college, I will be able to make a difference in my community. Let's change the world together.

I am currently a college freshman currently attending Oral Roberts University to acquire a Bachelor of Arts degree in History with a minor in English literature. I chose history as my major because history is my favorite subject to learn and there is always something new to learn in this field. History has always been important to me because history has been a subject neglected by so many people. Very few people disregard history as a general education subject that is not worth learning. I argue that history is the most important subject to study because it equips us with the knowledge necessary to analyze and explain historical issues and places us in a position to spot patterns that might otherwise go unnoticed in the present. This perspective is crucial for comprehending, not to mention solving, present and future issues. It is foolhardy to neglect the tragedies and terrible events of the past, as those who do not learn from their mistakes or neglect them are ultimately doomed to repeat them. I've noticed over the past several months that people all across the world continue to make terrible choices that previous generations of humans have made. The past occurrences—nations declaring war on one another, economic downturns, social turbulence, moral decline, and so much more—continue to this day. In my opinion, the errors that humanity has committed in the past should not be repeated. That is why I have chosen to be a history major. I'm intrigued to discover more about these tragic historical occurrences from a Christian perspective and teach humanity how to avoid making the same mistakes again. History should not be disregarded; on the contrary, it should be embraced. My vision is to have knowledge of the past and teach it to millions of people across the world who need to know how to make our world a better place. I will use my passion in my future career to examine and explore all the past errors of humanity to ensure that some of our mistakes will never be repeated. I love the Earth, and I do not wish to see it crash and burn during my time. I promise to do whatever I can to ensure that humanity will continue down a moral path toward the righteousness of God and toward an everlasting relationship with Jesus Christ. Other fields of study, including cultural anthropology, political science, and geography, are also excellent ways to teach people about the world we live in and call home. All of these fields, including mine, can work together to make our planet a safer and more prosperous place than it has ever been. I also plan on spreading my faith to as many people as possible to keep the hope of Jesus alive. Whether I am a historian or a history professor, I will do whatever it takes to ensure that future generations will not repeat our errors.
    Your Health Journey Scholarship
Throughout my life, I have tried to have a healthy lifestyle. During my elementary and middle school years, I would exercise regularly in my physical education classes. However, I had always been a food lover and would eat food more often than I exercised. Most of the food I ate was a bunch of unhealthy snacks that did not help me get in shape. As a result, I was a chubby child throughout my young years. The high school I attended did not have any physical education classes, which would have been a huge detriment to my health. Fortunately, to make up for that, I would do weight-training workouts at home since my family has lots of weight-training equipment. As high school passed by and I got older and taller, I managed to lose lots of body fat and get in better shape. I was very pleased with this new lifestyle change I made for myself. During the coronavirus pandemic, I had more time to exercise, and I used as much of my extra time to exercise. However, I started to tire out, and by the time I was a senior in high school, I stopped exercising entirely. Due to my high metabolism, I never gained any weight, but I was still not in good shape. Everything changed once I started attending Oral Roberts University. At ORU, students are required to exercise regularly. Every student is given a Fitbit to wear 24/7, which would track their heart rate, their calories burned, how many steps they took, and many more things. I devised an exercise and workout routine to keep me on track to get in shape as soon as I started college. I was excited to start exercising again, as my high school did not have the resources that my college does. I started doing lots of cardio and weight training over my first semester of college, and the results have been excellent. I began to feel healthier, something I had not felt in a long time. In addition to exercising, I decided to limit my food consumption and eliminate most of the snacks I would often eat back home. Due to these changes, I have maintained a healthy food plan that has assisted me in reaching my goals. Now, as I start my second semester of college, I am picking up right where I left off and am back on my workout plan. Hopefully, by the time I graduate from ORU in a few years, I will be in the best shape I have ever been in.

This world is full of instability, unrest, and mayhem. It pains me to see so many people running around, crying, and complaining about their problems. I do not want this to be the world that I want to live in. One way for me to make a positive impact on the world and to get involved in my community is to spread positivity across the globe. So often, we hear about deadly attacks by others and so many other things that are negative at their roots. I want this world to hear encouraging news that will elevate it from the ground up. Once I fully complete my higher education in college and understand more about the problems of this world and how we got to where we are today, I will search for solutions that would benefit all people from all backgrounds. I want to spread the good news about our world, the accomplishments of ordinary people, and so much more to have people realize that our world is not full of pain and suffering but full of joy and wonder instead. This process cannot be done alone, for it requires thousands or millions of people to collaborate and work together to make this world a better place. This can be done by collaborating with people from different countries and regions across the world who all have similar desires. Our children and our grandchildren should not suffer the same tragedies and pains that we are currently undergoing. It is up to us to ensure that we have a bright future for our youth. It may take a lot of time and be difficult, but it is possible, for nothing is truly impossible. I will do the best I can to inform the world that, despite these dark times that we currently live in, the fight for victory is not over. I hope to contribute to this and make sure that we all have a bright future. I hope millions of people around the world agree with me and understand that it is up to us to ensure that our children and our children's children grow up in circumstances that are beneficial to their growth. The future is in our hands, and we should not take anything for granted as we have done for so long. I hope this message will resonate with someone who loves this world as much as I do.

    Ms. Susy’s Disney Character Scholarship
My favorite Disney character is Ralph from the 2012 Disney movie, Wreck-It Ralph. I adore this character because he is so easy to sympathize with in the first movie. He is a down on his luck guy who is sick of everyone not appreciating him. He feels dejected by society and is forced to literally live in the garbage. I sympathize with Ralph, and sometimes I feel just like him. People in my community have not given me any respect and have treated me like nobody. That has caused me to be sour with all my peers since they do not see me as an individual worth caring about. Sometimes, it fits of rage, and I would lash out against my peers and remark how I felt betrayed by society. Ralph goes through a satisfying character arc and learns the value of friendship from Vanellope, the little girl from the Sugar Rush game. Their friendship by the end of the film is sweet and endearing, and we adore the bond that the two have. While I enjoyed Ralph in the first Wreck-It Ralph movie, I did not enjoy him in the second one. The 2018 Disney movie, Ralph Breaks the Internet, does a horrible disservice to Ralph's character. Instead of being the likable, friendly man that I once knew him to be, he became an insecure, blithering man-baby overly obsessed with Vanellope's well-being. I find that very uncomfortable and unnerving because Ralph is a grown man while Vanellope is like a ten-year-old girl. I find it very creepy to see a grown man be overly obsessed with the feelings of a child. Additionally, I cannot get over the fact that the movie breaks several of the rules of the universe. Video game characters are not supposed to leave their games during the day while their games are being played. If they are not present in their games while they are being played, then their games run the risk of being shut down. Ralph and Vanellope break this rule and completely disregard the consequences of their actions. That is something that I just cannot look past. Overall, Ralph is my favorite Disney character because Wreck-It Ralph is my favorite Disney movie from my childhood, and I love his character growth over the course of the first film. I do not enjoy the second movie, but that is simply my opinion.
    Bold Be You Scholarship
Every day in my life, I always push myself to be a better person. While I am highly rated among my family members, my teachers, and my peers, I feel like I could do a much better job if I actually strived to be a better person. Despite all my hard work through school, I have always felt like there was something missing in my life. I have always felt like I do not fit in with my peers, since I have different interests than they do, and I love to do different things than they do. After going through some counseling and other various forms of motivation, I came to the conclusion that I do not need to be like everyone else. I should accept who I am and not try to be someone who I am not and will never be. Everyone in this world is unique, and it is very important for people to understand that their lives matter and they are worth more than anything. Every day, I remind myself that I am an intelligent, hard-working individual who strives to make this world a safer, happier place. I will continue to have that positive attitude as I proceed onwards with my life, and I hope millions of other young individuals like myself will think the same way.
    Bold Friendship Matters Scholarship
In my personal opinion, friendship means that people will always watch out for each other and have each other's backs throughout the course of their lives. The purpose of having a friend is to have someone who understands you and wants to know all about you. Friends spend limitless amounts of time together and ensure that they have a great time. The word "friendship" will mean different things to millions of people, but most of the world agrees that a friend is a person whom one knows and with whom one has a bond of mutual affection. Friends are supposed to be honest with each other and never keep secrets from each other unless they have a good reason to do so. Friends who lie to each other and talk behind their backs are not considered real friends. The pain of losing your friend is a horrible thing to experience, but having your friend turn against you is an unbearable pain that takes a long time to overcome. In order for a friendship bond to last forever, two or more friends need to trust each other and be honest with each other. I firmly believe that friendship is an important part of life, and without someone to rely on, anyone would have a very troublesome life.

The one sentence that I would share with the world would be, "No matter how hard your situation may be, there is a bright future ahead for you." This world is full of fear, pain, and suffering, and it pains me to see that things continually get worse as nothing is done about it. I think it is time for a change. We need to address the problems that our world is facing and make sure that future generations live in a more prosperous world. Our children and our grandchildren should not suffer the same tragedies and pains that we are currently undergoing. It is up to us to ensure that we have a bright future for our youth. It may take a lot of time and it may be difficult, but it is possible, for nothing is truly impossible. I will do the best I can to inform the world that despite these dark times that we currently live in, it is not over. We can get through this together, for there is peace and prosperity at the end of the road. Who is willing to join me and make a difference in this world?
