Hello! My name is Zabia Evans.
I have experience in areas relating to speech-language pathology, marketing, and tutoring/teaching. My willingness to learn is engrained to expand my capabilities in any sphere. I am currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology at Old Dominion University.
At my alma mater, I had the great privilege to be involved in clubs such as NSSLHA, honor societies such as the Perry Honors College, and to be awarded multiple scholarships, eventually graduating with a 4.0 GPA, and as the Outstanding Scholar for Darden College of Educational and Professional Studies.
Proud holder of a variety of certifications such as Dyslexia Awareness, Restraint in the State of Virginia, Childhood Neglect in Virginia, ServSafe Managerial Certification, and Manager's Alcohol Responsibility Training. I have conducted and published research within the sphere of Speech-Language Pathology and the operation of therapy services during the COVID-19 pandemic - click my link!
My current areas of interest include equity, diversity, and inclusion through the lens of serving brown Spanish-speaking and Black AAE-speaking communities. I aspire to travel to different communities both within and outside of the United States, to provide therapy opportunities to disadvantaged individuals and to revolutionize practice through modification of instruction and intervention and diversifying phonological and linguistic approaches.
