I am a first generation student that lost my job in 2020 during covid. It has been very hard for me to find a job, so I have not been able to physically support myself for a long. I did not have any money to pay for college, but God has allowed me to cover some of my tuition through FASFA. Im so grateful and humbled to be able to have the opportunity to pursue my dream of becoming a nurse that would make a difference. I chose nursing because I want to save lives and make a difference in the lives of others. Many things have influenced me in desiring to pursue nursing. I have role models who have chosen to specialize in the field of nursing and a disabled brother who I have cared for over the years. My special needs brother has inspired me and taught me a lot of the nursing skills I have already. I have always been passionate about becoming a nurse because I love caring for others, taking charge, and being dedicated to getting the job done. My future nursing goals are furthering my communication skills, getting certifications, improving my efficiency, finding a good mentor and getting an advanced degree.
