I stand out. Instead of having a common hobby of sports, watching TV, playing video games, or reading, my hobby is working. I work in retail, and customers always complain, "Ah, I have to go to work today." I love to work, I see work as an opportunity. Although I dislike working in retail, instead, the work I love is conquering ambitious goals. I currently have goals where I jump out of bed because they are so ambitious. I am completely obsessed with goals that will take years to accomplish, nothing can get in the way. My 3 goals for the next 5 years are to: be fluent in Japanese 決して決めないよ! (I will NEVER give up!), become stronger, build my body and have loads of money. I am exceptional through hard work, determination, and discipline. I will do the work, especially when I don't feel like doing so. I will use my attributes of speed, efficiency and a hard-working mentality.
After my goals are completed, I will create even more ambitious goals. With the money I earned, I will help my community. The first people I will help are my family, as they've always supported me throughout many ups and downs since I was born. Then, I will help my friends, as they've given me much advice, laughter, support and memories. After my friends, I will help my local community by buying gifts on a large scale. In the next paragraph, there will be a story about helping my community on a smaller scale. When I have a large quantity of money, I intend to give away some for the better. I will make scholarships similar to this, and give away money I won't need. I will donate to charity. I work in retail, and when a customer has unneeded leftover change, I donate their money to my school. I don't need a couple of cents, but if I continuously donate bits of change, it will turn into dollars, and dollars into something useful.
A couple of days after the Christmas holiday, everyone returns to work and on my off day, I go to the retail store I work at. I'm with my friend and we decide to buy all my co-workers hilariously, but somewhat useful products. I bought PAM non-stick cooking spray, Jamaican jerk seasoning (only to jokingly call my coworker friend a jerk, friendly banter), and a pizza tray. Random, but can be useful in the future. Cooking spray is always good to have. Why not add some Jamaican jerk seasoning to your steak? A pizza tray? You never know when you will need a pizza tray, it's something you usually don't throw out.
To conclude, I refuse to sit around, waste time and procrastinate when there is work to be done. My crazy ambitious goals are what drive me to be who I am. My dreams are followed by a date, turning it into a goal. My goals are followed by steps, turning them into a plan. My plans are followed by action, thus my actions will fulfill my dreams. Once my dreams are completed, those all around me whom I value will be given generous thank-you gifts. 読んで本当ありがとうございます!(Thank you very much for reading this!)

1. Mechanical engineering, seeing the final product of something you've worked hard on is very rewarding to me. I've felt inspired to see the ingenuity behind products built by mechanical engineers. For example, Mark Rober is a famous YouTuber mechanical engineer. He made a darts game that guarantees a bullseye every hit. I will have the same ingenuity and curiosity as he does.
2. I enjoy transforming a clump of materials into a beautiful mechanical device that fulfills a purpose. I will understand how certain toys that look to have a bunch of string and gears within, pull off some groovy dance moves. Those are the things in engineering that aspire me to become just like the creators.
3. I like to think I think outside the box, as I have started scholarship essays as, "aksjdhkasjlh" in a manner to break the pattern and get the reader's attention. In the mechanical arts and crafts world, I enjoy woodworking. The process of turning a mundane piece of wood into a robust masterpiece. Another thing I enjoy seeing is the mechanical principles in everyday devices.
4. I plan to move into the world of entrepreneurship and use my mechanical engineering knowledge to get a job. When I am not at work, I will be designing a product to WOW many people. Sell the product and make more money. To be more specific with my business model, I will make a couple of ad campaigns of a mechanical product with a wow factor. I will know if a product has an effect if there seems to be a popular trend among various social media platforms. For example, someone designed a ball that when you throw it, it returns to your hand. I will design something in that manner, and reproduce many copies. I am not afraid of taking risks, I don't mind burning money to pay advertisers since I know I will get results.
5. Yes, they know I've gone through hardship and saw me overcome the obstacles. If I don't truly understand something, you can see me researching the same topic. In 2 days I could lecture you about the thing I didn't understand 2 days ago. I am not afraid of taking risks or overthinking a negative consequence that could impact me greatly. That doesn't mean I am ignorant of the bad consequences, rather I will know the most likely outcome.

ldjkfha asdhaslhjk. I hope the keyboard slam got your attention by disrupting the common pattern of my competition for this scholarship. This isn't an essay dedicated to having a special device designed to fix back problems, or a product making your quality of life easier. Instead, it is about a solution to procrastination in many aspects of work and study. I already have the resources to solve the problem; your undivided time reading this specific essay. I would personally appreciate it if you read this essay out loud. Thank you.
A common problem people struggle with is procrastination. Why do people procrastinate? Could it be out of laziness? Ignorance? Arrogance? Whatever the case, procrastination occurs when people fall into one of the following categories listed above. People procrastinate out of laziness because they are "too tired" to deal with it. Others procrastinate from ignorance because they didn't know they had to do it. Arrogance is when people think they are too good for it. A further analogy for each category about scholarship application is shown: A lazy person will say, "I will apply for scholarships later." A month passes, and deadlines are due tomorrow. They still haven't applied. The next day they are scrambling, hunting for scholarships. Their essays look terrible, an unorganized mess. What have they been doing in the past month instead of doing their scholarship applications? Were they wasting time going to the movies? An ignorant person will say "I never knew I had to apply for scholarships." Even though it is common knowledge to at least apply for free college money. Arrogance gives people the wrong mindset of "Well, after college with my new job, I will make $70,000 a year, and can pay off my debts within 5 years!" Why burden yourself by paying more when a scholarship can cushion your expensive college tuition?
A solution to all 3 categories is simple. Take control of your mind. A robust mind can overcome any obstacle. By saying "I will do it", and actually doing it, can accomplish anything. Do I want to write a bunch of scholarship essays right now? No. I won't be lazy by saying "I will do it later." The sooner the better in this scenario. I will not be ignorant by saying, "I don't know how to apply for scholarships!" Teachers, students, guidance counselors, and Google will answer your ignorance. Will I be arrogant by saying, "My future job (mechanical engineer) will make me good money, so it doesn't matter how much college debt I'm in. I can probably pay my debts in 5 years! (Assuming $100,000 in debt)"? I am absolutely not saying that. I write this essay because it must be done now, today. My school opened the door of scholarships, and I have to walk through that door. Today, on March 8th, 2023, I said to myself, "I will write this scholarship essay from start to finish, today before I sleep." What did I do? I wrote this essay before I slept. An iron mind can accomplish anything if you truly apply yourself. A man who lifts weights consistently, pushing himself 5 times a week every day, will be strong. His iron mind of "I want a good-looking body", overcame the obstacles. Those who started at the same time as him, and didn't push themself 5 times a week every day, possibly fell into one of the 3 categories. They aren't going to be as strong as the man who pushed himself every day. Believe in discipline, not motivation. Motivation is the key to discipline.
