Bio
Hello! I am a 14 yr old girl who wants to pursue medicine in the future. I want to become a neurosurgeon, and after I am legally an attending, I want to start a business. I know I most likely won't have the time, so my parents will help me run it. I'm interested in nature, all aspects of it. I love hiking and the ocean, and I love how you can tell whether a dot in the sky is a star or a planet by zooming in on it through your camera. I also think time is the most important thing in the world. I don't want to waste a second of my time, nor do I want to forget it, which is why I write about every single day I go through in my journal. I love knowing that I will always remember every single second I've lived because it's all jotted down on stacks of paper. In addition to journaling, I also love researching and studying. I really want to see dreams one day, but live and not just while I'm sleeping. I don't know much about dreams or about medicine in general, which is why I'll be studying about it in my free time at school. I'm starting to slowly add 10 minute increments of research everyday, and by time, I'm sure it'll increase. Although I don't do much studying or research now, because it's summer, I will go back to doing them during school like I did last year. Last year wasn't my greatest year, but every week I would study for an hour excluding homework. Before tests, I would study, at minimum, 2 hours a day excluding homework. After high school, my dream would be to attend Harvard, and after, Harvard Medical School, seeing as it is the best option as a pre-med. Thank you.

Question: What major have you selected, at what college/university and why?
Answer: I am currently still in highschool, but I plan to apply to multiple colleges. My goal would be to enter into Harvard as a neuroscience/biochemistry major because I want to become a neurosurgeon in the future, and Harvard would ensure the best education and learning for my career choice.
Question: Share your strengths and weaknesses.
Answer: I feel as though my biggest problem is staying motivated. Sometimes, I tend to lose motivation, and even though I usually don't get my motivation back, I still do what is needed to be done. I will not let lack of motivation ruin my chances of being the best at what I'll do. I would rather suffer and get my work done instead of suffer for feeling guilty by not getting my work done.
I feel as though my strengths are being organized and disciplined. By staying organized, I have exactly what I need right where I need it. By staying disciplined, I will not let anything get in my way of achieving what I want.
Question: Who are you and why do you deserve the scholarship?
Answer: As a freshman in highschool, I'm still discovering who I am. Right now, I know that I am a proud Muslim, a daughter to the most amazing parents in the world, and a teenage girl who wants to be more than the bare minimum. I think that I deserve the scholarschip because the 1000$ will not be going towards just my education, but it will also go towards helping thousands of sick patients. By choosing me, you would gain multiple hasanat (In Shaa Allah), and you'd continue to gain hasanat while in the grave.
Abu Qatadah reported: The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, “The best of what a man leaves behind are three: a righteous child who supplicates for him, ongoing charity the reward of which reaches him, and knowledge that is acted upon after him.”

Question: Tell me your favorite book/ movie/ song.
Answer: My favorite book would be The Outsiders because although it is considered "controversial," it portrays a very important message of how everyone will have a different opinion of us no matter what we achieve. If we're successful, we're deemed hard-working, yet snobby. If we're unsuccessful, we're lazy but pitied upon. People will never be satisified. We can have everyone but one person like us, and we'd only focus on that one person. This ongoing war in our heads to be liked by everyone will end up consuming us, because, again, people will never be satisified, which means we will never be satisified. This is portrayed all throughout The Outsiders. In the end, Ponyboy learns to accept himself, which gives him a completely different mindset from the one in the beginning of the book. On top of one of the main ideas they portrayed, it is an extremely good book filled with action, sorrow, revenge, etc. I don't have a specific movie that's considered my favorite, but two movies that I enjoyed are Spanglish and Over the Moon. I don't have a favorite song because I don't listen to music. I go with the belief that instruments are haram in Islam.
Question: As a Muslim, what do you consider your greatest achievement?
Answer: As a Muslim, I consider my greatest achievement as (currently) memorizing the Quran and finishing Khitmah during Ramadan. I don't have enough space to explain why, but I consider the Quran as one of the best things to enter my life.
