I am a Genetics PhD candidate at Yale University studying the molecular and phenotypical differences of KRAS variants in pancreatic cancer. I obtained my Bachelors of Science degree in Biology from the University of Puerto Rico in Aguadilla. My passion for providing equal access to health care and education, outreach and mentoring has driven my involvement with non-profit organizations such as HAVEN Free Clinic, New Haven Science Fair Program, and multiple student-based mentoring programs focused on increasing diversity and inclusion in STEM fields. Upon completing my PhD, I will pursue a pharmacy degree with the ultimate goal of leveraging my experiences in research, teaching, and healthcare to foster trust with marginalized communities and to help guarantee equitable access to high-quality education and healthcare services.
