As a young Latina woman from Atlanta, Georgia, I'm proud to be the daughter of immigrant parents who settled in Atlanta as young adults. Now living in Mississippi, I'm driven to pursue my BFA degree, inspired by my stepmother's art degree and my own passion for creativity. My dream is to work in the fashion industry, combining my love for art and design.
Throughout my academic journey, I've faced challenges, but I persist and seek help when needed. I'm a National Honor Society member, actively engaging in community service, such as food pantry volunteering and roadside cleanups. My hard work has earned me awards, including the Superintendent's Breakfast Award for straight A's in 11th grade and the highest grade in my accounting class.
To prepare for college, I've taken dual-credit classes in 11th grade and plan to take more in my senior year. I currently have 21 college credits Currently, I'm ranked in the top 20% of my class. My goal is to attend college without financial burdens, focusing on my studies and creative pursuits. I aspire to travel, explore the world, and make my family proud.

Lotus Scholarship
I grew up in a low-income household with a single Mexican mother named Maria Estela Moran. I lived in a one-bedroom apartment with my mother and sister. We would always walk to the stores and my mom would walk miles and miles in the streets of Atlanta to get us to school to ensure we had an education. My sister and I were often babysat as my mom worked to provide for us. We would move around a lot and live with family members. We struggled financially so we relied on food stamps.
Despite that, I found people who supported us that I met that made it a less difficult experience.
This experience shaped me as a confident, caring, and hardworking person. It also motivated me to help others with similar struggles.I plan to continue to use my experiences to help others who face similar struggles and make a positive impact on their lives. I plan to use my voice to make people aware of poverty, persuade people around the world and help young children who face similar challenges as I have and break the cycle of poverty.
Doña Lupita Immigrant Scholarship
My single mother never taught me values of any kind, but instead I lived them with her in a way that she showed me I saw them, and that’s how those values were instilled in me. My mom was a single immigrant mother in Atlanta, Georgia, without speaking good English and having two girls of her own, with not too much help from her family when she was a single mother because she was struggling to find a place to live and they weren’t offering to help her when she most needed it. She did it all by herself. She persisted; she didn’t give up by making sure she got us to school, even by walking when we didn’t have any type of transportation, and by making sure we had everything we needed. She had a lot of confidence walking alone with her children in the city, and she showed respect to people and was kind to others, like when she cleaned houses for people. She worked a lot to give us a home and food, and I'm grateful for that. She was friends with one of the people she cleaned houses for. She showed me to be independent, not to be scared to ask, not to be lazy, and not to be scared to show who you are. It doesn’t matter where you come from, how you dress, or how you talk; don’t worry about other people's opinions. I also experienced the values that she instilled in me because I was with her along the way. I feel bad for mom that she had to go through all that, but she showed she was a good person, and I learned a lot from her. She showed me to have confidence, perseverance, kindness, and to be hardworking and never give up because you’ll get somewhere better and happier, and it doesn't matter where you come from; you have a bright future if you work hard for it. You don’t have to be a single immigrant parent to have these values; anyone can have them. These values will always stay with me, no matter how poor or wealthy I am. Wherever I am in my life and whatever I’m going through, these values will go with me wherever I go. Even when my mom leaves this world, I'll be proud of myself because those values will stay with me and because she raised a good daughter.
Barbie Dream House Scholarship
Welcome to the spectacular Barbie dream house located in Acapulco, Guerrero, just outside of the beach. The pink house has a contemporary Mexican architectural style. The outside has gates with Barbie’s name on it, and the outdoors has lots of greenery and flowers around the house. With a driveway with a pink motorcycle and a pink vintage car parked outside. As you enter through the big doors, you see the big living room with a high ceiling, a bright crystal chandelier, and a water fountain with a palm tree in the middle of the house. The house has pink-tiled double staircases. Filled with Barbie’s photoshoot pictures and pink Mexican paintings on the wall. You see a window with pink curtains on both ends with a view of the city and a simple pink living room with a pink heart couch and a big TV. As you go through the hallway, you find the pink kitchen with a pink round table, a modern refrigerator, and an organized walk-in pantry. The coolest thing about this house is Barbie's room, which is located upstairs. Her bed has a pink rhinestone bed frame, a pink bed set filled with sheer curtains and pillows, a pink carpet, a balcony with a pink handmade hammock to lay down in and surrounded by plants, a walk-in closet that is filled with clothes, shoes, jewelry, bags, and other fashion accessories, a mirror, a roof window, and a device that is like her personal stylist and chooses her outfits. As you get further upstairs to the rooftop pool with pink umbrellas, pink chairs, and pink floaties, a bar, and a disco ball with a DJ playing Barbie Girl by Aqua. She also has a movie theater with pink reclining seats and high back rocker chairs. This house is a fun, elegant, extraordinary Barbie dream house in Mexico.
