As a computer science major, my long-term goal is to contribute to a world where technology feels seamless, intuitive, and efficient rather than frustrating or unnecessarily complicated. I want to help build software systems that prioritize usability, performance, and longevity—systems that are designed not just to work, but to last and remain efficient over time.
Too often, modern software feels bloated, slow, or overly complex for the tasks it is meant to accomplish. Users are frequently forced to adapt to poorly optimized interfaces or inefficient systems that consume excessive resources. In many cases, software is replaced entirely rather than improved or maintained, contributing to a cycle where longevity is undervalued. I want to challenge that approach by focusing on optimization at both the system and user experience levels.
My interest in computer science is rooted in problem-solving and efficiency. I enjoy thinking about how algorithms work behind the scenes, how data structures affect performance, and how small improvements in design can create significant improvements in speed and usability. Over time, I have developed a strong interest in areas such as software optimization, systems design, and potentially even energy-efficient computing. These interests all connect to a broader vision of making technology more sustainable and intentional.
In the future, I hope to work on building or contributing to software systems that are not only functional but also highly optimized and durable. This includes reducing unnecessary computational overhead, improving responsiveness, and designing systems that can scale without becoming inefficient or wasteful. This scholarship would play an important role in helping me reach these goals by easing the financial burden of my education. I love math because it is objective, logical, and consistent. Unlike many other subjects where answers can depend on interpretation or context, math has a clear structure where reasoning leads to definite conclusions. There is something satisfying about working through a problem step by step and knowing that, if each step is correct, the final answer is guaranteed to be right. That sense of certainty is something I really value.
I am also drawn to how straightforward math can be in its core principles. Even when problems become complex, they are ultimately built from simple rules and logical relationships. Once you understand those foundations, you can break down difficult problems into smaller, manageable parts. This way of thinking appeals to me because it rewards clarity, patience, and structured reasoning rather than guesswork.

This line resonates with me because it captures the hope, dignity, and resilience of the Palestinian spirit. It expresses the idea that even amidst hardship, life remains meaningful through family, memory, and the quest for a better future.
I am Palestinian, and my heritage is key to my identity. My family has humble beginnings. Before the Nakba, they worked as barbers, building their lives through simple, honest labor in Gaza. Despite facing challenges, they held a strong belief: education is the most valuable gift they could give. Their main goal was not wealth or status but to ensure that their children, and later their grandchildren, would receive an education, achieve great things, and access opportunities that were unavailable to them.
My parents were born and raised in Gaza. Their experiences shaped this value system. They learned that knowledge is both a form of strength and a way forward. Through their stories, I gained lessons on perseverance, responsibility, and the importance of valuing education. Their sacrifices and determination inspire me to pursue my goals with seriousness and purpose.
I am currently studying Computer Science. My aim is to develop strong skills in software development, artificial intelligence, and data science, and apply them to practical problems. I am particularly interested in how technology can enhance education, infrastructure, and access to resources. I view technology not just as a career option but as a means to create opportunities where they are scarce.
One of my biggest dreams is to contribute to the growth and success of Palestinian communities.
