My name is Yahir Gutierrez Fiscal, and I am a graduating student at Fullerton College, transferring to California State University, Fullerton in Fall 2025 to pursue a bachelor's degree in English with a minor in Spanish. At Fullerton College, I earned an AA-T in English and multiple Associate of Arts degrees in Social & Behavioral Sciences, Social Sciences, Arts & Human Expression, and Foreign Language, reflecting my commitment to interdisciplinary learning and academic excellence. Beyond the classroom, I have served as President of FC United and EOPS Clubs, and as an Ambassador for the Dreamer Student Incentive Grant (DISG), where I organized community-building events, supported student engagement, and mentored peers. My leadership roles taught me the importance of advocacy, teamwork, and uplifting underrepresented voices. I am also a first-generation college student and the child of a hardworking immigrant family from Tijuana, Mexico. Supporting my family while pursuing higher education has given me resilience, responsibility, and a deep motivation to succeed. I balance full-time work with academics, and I have been recognized at campus ceremonies, including the Grads to Be Monarch Celebration, the EOPS Ceremony, and the Transfer Celebration. My future goal is to become a professor of English and Spanish, where I can inspire students and build inclusive learning spaces. Education has been transformative for me, and I want to give back by helping future generations find their voice and achieve their dreams.
