I have had a couple of times where I believed this was the worst experience in my soccer career, but this specific season stuck out to me. It was the beginning of my first year of high school and I was trying out for the season as a freshman, I wasn't anything too special nothing eye-catching during our tryouts. I played on my "A" team throughout middle school and was considered a decent player by my coaches so when I played my first game I got extremely big-headed, because of this opponents were quickly getting in my head when they made a play around me causing me to be a weak link on my team. That game ended 6-2 but I learned a lesson, not to get cocky even if you believe yourself to be better. It taught me a lot about myself when this happened and I was able to apply this to real-life scenarios as well. My last season has to have been my best so far, though I was dealing with a lot of mental issues every practice I would push myself more and more often finding myself throwing up from running too much. The best single experience from this season would be the last game I played against a school an hour and a half away. In this game, our team had a perfect sync and the team we were going against was considered a much harder team to go against but not once did they score, and very few times went past defense. I often played left back and in this game, I was playing more of a position like a left wing. My performance as my coach had said was phenomenal and I had a great vision for the ball and where it needed to go along with making a lot of hard-to-catch touches. It is a bit hard to explain because the whole game I was kind of in a zone where I just knew what to do but could not recall what I did. I believe this season and that game was the best experience I've had in my couple of years in playing soccer and what made it all better was how my friends/ teammates would appraise me for a play or an assist. That experience alone made me want to have it happen more often so I have been working harder and harder to build my skill on top of that season so my last year in high school I can say I was at my best.
    Engineers of the Future Scholarship
The reason I am passionate about engineering is that I believe that the only way to progress in this world is through technology. With more technological advances in history, we were able to overcome plagues and able to make interchangeable parts for any piece of machinery. Being a computer engineer can help show how a tiny chip can make a large difference, it's essentially a brain itself! We have these chips called CPUs in everything from your home computer to the international spaceship all the way up in space improving these tiny little "brains" can bring us farther than we could imagine. Not too long ago it could take home computers hours at a time to project a single image, nowadays we have portable computers thinner than most college textbooks that can not only be very easy to carry around in your school bag but can surf the internet without waiting hours for your homepage to finish loading in. With engineering, this world has the capability to grow so much more whether you decide to go into computer engineering, aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or civil engineering. Any of the types of engineering listed above make a large impact on this world alone and that is why I am very passionate about engineering.

Ever since I was a kid I have always been fascinated when playing computer games such as Minecraft or even just simple browser games like Run. That fantasy eventually grew into something much greater than becoming hardware and what would make a game run better or what makes a system more powerful. This grew into building computers then servers and now the desire to make the components of the computer such as GPUs and CPUs. I can easily say that while I have many other hobbies that this hobby alone is my favorite but quite an expensive hobby. My goal is to get a master's or doctorate in computer science, I am the type when it comes to education to either go big or go home because if you settle in life you won't always get what you want but have to settle for something smaller. When I get my master's or doctorate in computer engineering I do hope to work for Intel, AMD, Nvidia, or even Microsoft. I chose those companies because of my familiarity with the companies and hope to improve on future computer components and be able to optimize certain components so they can run at their very best, that is the reason why I have chosen those select companies. I believe I am the best candidate for this scholarship because I am very ambitious and am willing to see things through so the money will not go to waste. Another reason I believe I am the best candidate for this scholarship is that I know that every cent won't be wasted, what I mean by that is exactly what you might think. I plan to use all and any scholarship money I can receive purely for academics so I am not left with any debt or a minimal amount of debt!

My favorite song also happens to be a song that sends an important message to me. The song Iris by the goo goo dolls might not sound familiar but it was once very popular in 1998 reaching number 66 on the Billboard Hot 100 Airplay chart. This song has particular lyrics that reach out to me such as, "You're the closest to heaven that I'll ever be and I don't want to go home right now", these 2 lines help me visualize someone who is extremely important to me and how I think this is going to be the best that I got and I know the feeling will wear off when I get home due to a hard environment there. The line, "I just want you to know who I am" also shows how I struggle to know myself who I am and how I just want to make an impact in someone's life when I do go. Lastly, the last line here shows how I have a hard time opening up because I think people would judge me or treat me differently if they knew more about me, "And I don't want the world to see me 'cause I don't think that they'd understand".
