CREATIVE. INSPIRED. HAPPY Mid-Career Writing Scholarship
Held in my left hand is a weapon of mass destruction. A weapon to organize peace or instill chaos. A weapon that can paint a picture so vividly with letters derived from civilizations before my time. Every word holds power and every bit of that power is held in my left hand. However, the effectiveness of a weapon is completely dependent on how it is used. This is what I love about writing.
A painter chooses colors to coat his brush, every stroke as important as the last. For a writer you could apply the same concept. A picture painted with words, leaving little room for interpretation. The art of writing is as beautiful as any painting could be.
An Author, a creator of worlds, a soldier for truth, a voice for the voiceless, unrewarded. The end goal of furthering my education in truth is to fund a passion. To find a way to continue to create for a life time not just as a hobby. To dive into the unknown and return to the surface relishing in happiness. Hearing the words "there's no money in that" is a deafening phrase as a child However it seems like the decibels increase with age. "There's no money in that" is a phrase used to detour, discourage, and defeat a dream. "There's no money in that" I mean, how can you hope to live with no money in a society that places so much value in it? To go day by day, praying and hoping to find a way to fund the next day of life.
My goal for furthering My education is probably one many share, in fact some may call it "surface level" thinking. The goal is wish to attain is to make money doing something I believe I'm rather good at. To become a blueprint for commercial writing, to find a new way to do something old. By furthering my education and grouping myself with like minded peers, I hope to challenge the world and let people rediscover their love for the art of reading. To hone my skills in writing to create beautiful flows of words because in truth, I would rather look at a mountain shrouded in clouds and covered in snowfall than view it bare.
What I love about writing are the endless possibilities of creation, the world's that be visited, the voices that can be heard. This is what I love about writing.
