Growing up I always knew I was different when I was younger. I was a very social kiddo always trying to make friends. When I got older I realized that everyone wasn't trying to be my friend. I figured out the hard way that they really just pity me. When I figured out that cold truth I was very sad. I almost felt angry so then I started to really feel a deep hatred for myself. I asked myself "why was I born this way" or "why couldn't I be born normal". I slowly disconnected myself from everyone else but I noticed some details. Whenever I asked to play or even participate in something I was always looked at strangely or they would never pass the ball when they did let me. So I cried and cried wondering if in any way I could be different or if there was anything I can do to be liked. I was born with a condition called ABS also known as Amniotic Band Syndrome, a condition where fibrous amniotic bands detach and entangle limbs, digits, or the umbilical cord, causing constriction, deformities, or amputation. On both hands and feet I have missing digits and severe deformities that had to be corrected with surgery. This condition is rare and not seen so often but it is a very real thing. My story is about coming to peace with my condition and realize that i need to be comfortable in my own skin even if i feel alienated from everyone else so the answer to the question of the essay is my biggest struggle was wanting to fit in but i overcame it by showing the world I'm a very capable person. When i graduate i want to go to barton county community collage to explore my career in welding and i need to file for scholarships so that way i can get the proper education to get a good career in welding i wanted to do welding mainly because i was always interested in how things in this world were put together when i found out when i was way younger that we can fuse metals together to hold sturdy structures in knew that what i wanted to do there is a high demand for welders in the world so i want to do welding because of the opportunity, the good paycheck, and the high demand in the workforce.
