Hi, I am Williamena Y. Munyeneh, I am 28 years and a Liberian by nationality.
In 2021 I graduated from the University of Liberia with a BSc degree in Biomedical science.
Having kids and going to school wasn't an easy journey for me, but I didn't quit the struggle. I have two very cute kids, a boy and a girl that I cherish alot and desire.
I see them as blessings to me, but yet I strive for a better future for myself and also for my kids.
I was pregnant with them (my kids) but still attended my lecture classes and Laboratory, and I refused to abort my educational mission.
I the decided to continue the struggle even after delivery. Understanding my financial situation I had to carry them to school when I'm going for classes because I didn't have the cash to pay a nanny to take care and watched over them for me untill I get back from school. I did that untilI a friend came to help me look after the kids, Things were tough, feeding my two kids when the father abondon us, no support from my family.
Things got worst for my kids and I so I had to start a little business at the same time to continue going to school and taking care of my kids. By doing all of that together aIone, I had to exercise patients and do a lot of adjustment to time, money, education and taking care of my kids. I reduced my credit hours at the University by registering for at most nine (9 ). I started selling used clothes and shoes in a wheelbarrow in the community and it's surrounding, with the help of God things started to work out for me, I could feed my kids and go to my classes until my senior year when I got really sick because of depression and Malaria and I had to drop out for a semester, till I got better and continue from where I stopped.
All this while, I was renting a small apartment, suddenly I never dime to pay for my rent, so the landlord said I nust exit her apartment, she's not running a charity
I pleaded with her but to no avail. so moved with my kids to a friend for three months and it was a huge embarrassment, because she also had her kids with her. so I had to migrate as early as possible.
Later I got a job and left the house to start over again, and God been faithful to me I graduated from the University with the average of 3.5 GPA in Biomedical science. Now I'm looking forward to having a scholarship to obtain a master degree.
I don't want my kids going through the struggle with education like I did, and I want to help other kids to know the importance of education expecially girls or woman with kids to keep pushing themselves to get higher education.
