Jack D. McWilliams, Sr. Scholarship
I am a proven leader. I was a senior patrol leader in my Scout group. Where I chose to lead by example. I never asked of the other scouts anything that I was not willing to do myself. I obtained my Eagle Scout rank by creating a hill at my school that is utilized as outdoor classroom, seating for sporting events and a training area for school and community fitness. I was Vice president of my 4-H group where I showed market hogs and Vice president of the National Honor Society organizing the Veterans' Day program and Red Cross blood drive. I am involved in my church, assisting with Sunday school lessons for the younger children.
Scouts has instilled in me the importance of community service and service to others. I have helped with food drives, fed families at Ronald McDonald house, assisted with flag retirement ceremonies, and church clean up events.
My career goals start with obtaining my Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy. I want to return to my local area and assist the medically underserved. I want to empower my clients to improve their quality of life. This scholarship will assist me in obtaining my goals. It would help to offset the expenses of my education and would be greatly appreciated.
