During the pandemic, I became uncertain if I wanted to continue studying music. It was very difficult, to participate in virtual ensembles without an audience. But music is all that I know and all that I am good at. This past year, I had the opportunity to be a member of the Musical Pathway Fellowship Program at Cleveland Institute of Music. The program is for black and Latinx students that are serious about music and committed to diversifying classical music. I was reenergized and embraced through the program. I got to work with some amazing professionals in trombone performance, music theory and music composition. I was accepted to all of the schools I auditioned at and have recently committed to attend the Baldwin Wallace Conservatory of Music. I know that I have an important mission to inspire and uplift people through music, heal broken hearts and change the face of classical music and I am excited.
