WinnerBooks have played an important role in shaping my goals, especially those focused on criminal justice, forensic science, and wrongful convictions. Reading real cases where innocent people were impacted by errors, bias, or misinterpreted evidence helped me understand that justice is not guaranteed. These stories showed me how powerful evidence can be, but also how easily it can be mishandled or misunderstood. They pushed me to think critically about how systems operate and how individual professionals carry immense responsibility in shaping outcomes. As a result, my goals evolved from a general interest in law enforcement to a deeper commitment to ethical forensic work that prioritizes accuracy, fairness, and accountability.
My experience with mental health has also strongly influenced who I am. Navigating anxiety and burnout has taught me empathy, patience, and self awareness. It has changed how I approach relationships, making me more understanding and less judgmental of others. I have learned that many struggles are invisible, and that compassion can make a real difference. These experiences have also helped me learn how to advocate for myself and recognize the importance of balance and boundaries. These experiences have also shaped my career aspirations. High pressure environments, especially in criminal justice, can affect judgment and performance, and I believe that supporting mental well being is essential for ethical decision making. I want to be part of a profession that acknowledges this reality rather than ignoring it.
I am someone who values growth, integrity, and service. Through my education and hands-on experience in forensic science, I have seen how attention to detail and respect for evidence can directly impact people’s lives. Seeing the real-world consequences of small mistakes reinforced how important it is to slow down and do things correctly the first time. I plan to make a positive impact by contributing to a justice system that values truth over assumptions and careful work over convenience. My goal is to help ensure evidence is collected, documented, and interpreted responsibly, reducing the risk of mistakes that can lead to wrongful convictions.
An important social issue I am working to address is wrongful conviction and systemic bias within the criminal justice system. By continuing my education, gaining real-world experience, and committing to ethical practices, I hope to be part of meaningful change. I want my career to reflect not only professional success, but also a commitment to fairness, accountability, and protecting the dignity of others.
