Bio

I am a single mother of four. I would love to be someone they can look up to too. I am determined to complete my social work program and help people who struggle with mental health. I fell in love with meditation and yoga. This has helped me to stay focused and grounded. Taking care of my mental and physical health has helped me when I get overwhelmed.

tiktok: Lavenderbleustudios My best back-to-school tip would be not to put so much pressure on yourself and remember that not everyone learns the same. When school first started for me, I would put all this pressure on what I would accomplish throughout the year. Please take your time one day at a time. When you get into school you don't need to know right away your whole game plan. Don't put all these expectations/ pressure on yourself. Enjoying learning new things and meeting new people's life is very short, so enjoy it. Also remember that just because someone doesn't have to study and you do doesn't make you less smart. Even though you may have to work harder at school doesn't make you less of a student.

I first want to say that if it was not for God I wouldn't be alive. When I was barely three months old, my mom took me to the doctor, because I wasn't holding any food down. When I arrived at the doctors, my mother was told nothing was wrong with me and she was just overreacting due to the fact this was her first child. My mother wouldn't take that so she found another doctor. At that time, we were in Florida. The doctor said my intestines were twisted and that I would need to be put in a helicopter and taken to Chicago. When I arrived at the hospital in Chicago, IL, the doctors immediately started getting to work. I flat lined twice and the prayer warriors came to my bedside( mom, grandmother, great grandmother and my godmother). It took a lot of praying and singing old hymns that kept me alive. I am thankful to be alive and my battle scars remind me every day that God saved me and I am meant for greatness. Throughout my life, I have been taught that God will get away out of no way and that has been true. I grew up with a father as a pastor and I am so blessed to have been given the tools to survive. God has given me the signs that have prevented me from making really bad decisions in life. All you have to do is listen. I believe that faith will assist me in my career, because mental health is a really big problem. I believe that God wants all his children to have a clear mind and functioning body. I will use my faith to carry me through the dark times and the times I feel like quitting. My faith will assist me because God told me when I was young that I was meant for greatness. This means that I will not stop until I reach greatness. God tells me in his word to keep faith and never loose site. God also gives me scripture about faith that I am able to refer to and remind myself of the promise God has for me. My favorite scriptures about faith include; Hebrews 11:6 "And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him." Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge him, and he will make your path straight. "Mark 9:23 "Jesus said to him, 'If you can believe? All things are possible for one who believes." God gives us the tools by promising in the scriptures that we will be protected and making all things possible through him. All we have to do is put our faith in God. I am a thirty-year-old single mom and work full-time. God told me it was time to finish what I started, so I enrolled back into school. God told me to put my faith in him and to do the work and everything would fall into place. Everyday I keep faith in my putting in more applications to get help to finally reach my dreams.
