I was born and raised in Nashik, in Maharashtra, India. Marathi is my first language and Hindi came right after. Home has always been tied to my family's homestay business, we open our house to travelers, and I grew up watching my parents make guests feel looked after: remembering names, fixing small problems before anyone noticed them. That's where I learned what work actually looks like. It isn't one big gesture. It's a hundred small ones done consistently. I didn't leave that behind when I came to the U.S. for college. I kept running our listings from Arizona answering guests across a twelve hour time difference, rewriting our descriptions, handling reviews and our bookings went up about 25%. Managing a small family business from another continent taught me more about follow through than any class has. It also shaped how I approach my degree. I study Artificial Intelligence in Business, but I'm also a music producer, and coming from a practical family has meant treating the creative side as something serious to build, not a hobby to set aside. My education is paid for by my family and a merit scholarship from ASU. As an international student, I can't receive any U.S. federal or state financial aid, so those two sources are all I have. The scholarship ASU's New American University award covered a large share of my tuition, but it's capped at eight semesters and runs out after this coming fall. Here is my problem. I need one more semester to graduate. I started my degree at ASU's Lake Havasu campus, and the university closed that campus in 2025. I moved to the Tempe campus and switched into the AI in Business program, and between the transfer and the new requirements, my timeline stretched by one semester the ninth which now falls right after my scholarship ends. That leaves roughly $8,500 for my final spring with nothing covering it. My family already stretches to pay what the scholarship doesn't, and with the exchange rate, every dollar of U.S. tuition is several times heavier in rupees. Asking them to absorb a full extra semester we never planned for is a real strain. This scholarship would go directly toward that gap. It would let me finish the degree I've worked four years for, on time, without putting more pressure on my family than they've already carried to get me here.
