I am passionate about succeeding in whatever I put my mind to. I am ambitious and hard working even when I lack confidence. Wherever I may go or whatever I may do, I hope to take it in my stride. My goals as of now are to graduate with my bachelors and decide whether or not I would like to go to graduate school for my masters. I’m interesting in manufacturing, operations, and continuous improvement.

As someone deeply passionate about both faith and service, I have always viewed engineering as a powerful means to make a positive impact on the world. My upbringing in a community that emphasized the importance of using our gifts for the greater good has profoundly influenced my decision to pursue a degree in engineering. I believe that engineering is more than just a profession; it is a calling that offers the opportunity to address some of society's most pressing challenges.
I chose industrial engineering because it allows me to apply my analytical skills and creativity to optimize processes, improve efficiency, and enhance quality in various industries. My specific interest lies in streamlining operations within manufacturing and logistics to create sustainable practices that benefit both companies and communities. Industrial engineering has the potential to address significant issues, such as waste reduction, resource optimization, and improving workplace safety. My aim is not only to enhance productivity but also to ensure that these improvements contribute positively to the lives of workers and the communities they serve, embodying my Christian values of stewardship and compassion.
My faith is the cornerstone of my life, and I remain actively involved in my college ministry. Engaging in weekly services and small groups, I find a sense of community and purpose that deepens my spiritual journey. Additionally, participating in various outreach initiatives organized by the ministry helps me apply my beliefs in practical ways. These experiences have taught me the importance of humility, service, and collaboration. They also provide opportunities to connect with others who share my faith, allowing us to support one another in our spiritual journeys while pursuing our academic and professional goals.
As I move forward in my engineering career, I am committed to maintaining a strong relationship with Christ and my church. I believe that regular prayer and reflection will help guide my decisions and keep me grounded in my values. Additionally, I engage with mentors within my college ministry and local church who can offer guidance and wisdom as I navigate this new phase of life. By surrounding myself with like-minded individuals, I can foster a sense of accountability and encouragement, which is essential for both my spiritual and professional growth.
Receiving this scholarship would significantly alleviate the financial burdens associated with my education, allowing me to focus wholeheartedly on my studies and involvement in my college ministry. With support, I can pursue internships and research opportunities that enhance my skills and provide hands-on experience in the industrial engineering field. This scholarship would also enable me to participate in missions that not only align with my engineering aspirations but also provide real-world applications of my skills in serving communities in need.
The pressure of student debt can be a significant distraction and sometimes detracts from academic focus and spiritual development. By relieving part of this financial burden through this scholarship, I would be empowered to dedicate my time and energy to my studies, ensuring I can develop my technical expertise while remaining committed to my faith.
In conclusion, I believe that industrial engineering serves as an avenue for me to live out my faith by actively contributing to societal betterment. I plan to maintain a strong connection with my college ministry and my relationship with Christ as I continue on this journey. This scholarship would provide essential financial support that allows me to pursue my educational goals with greater determination and purpose. Ultimately, I aspire to utilize my engineering career not only to innovate but to serve others fulfilling my calling to make a positive impact in the world through Christ-centered values.
Live Music Lover Scholarship
My favorite concert memory was at a Jonas Brothers concert in St. Paul, Minnesota. Bebe Rexha was the opener and it was fantastic. It was in the Xcel Energy Arena (where the Wild play) and well the seats weren't even that amazing. Funnily enough the reason it is my favorite concert memory doesn't have much to do with the concert itself. As some might know, Nick Jonas married Priyanka Chopra in 2018. This concert occurred in September of 2019. September 16th to be precise, which is only important because it was Nick's 27th birthday, meaning Priyanka was present, and I saw her, and I was in her presence. In my 15 year old brain, this was the most successful, beautiful, actress and woman ever. Also, should note, I had just watched Baywatch (2017) for the first time and was in awe of this woman. Well, as I said she was in attendance and when I saw her walk out I started bawling my eyes out, and I honestly think my sister still has a video of it. Oh, and they played Year 3000 which may have come out when I was 2, but nonetheless a great song and I was there for it.
As far as my first concert experience goes. It was my 13th birthday gift. I got to see Ed Sheeran in Duluth, Georgia at the Infinite Energy Center (Night 2). The way my mother and sister told me I got tickets was with personalized M&M's. I believe there may be a video floating around of the event, but according to them it was the first time since birth that I was completely quiet (in shock) and had nothing to say. I will admit, they are probably correct. Leading up to the concert I only listened to Ed Sheeran for about two months straight. My sister was about tired of him by the time we actually got there. Nonetheless, the concert itself was insane, the graphics were awesome and Ed didn't have a band the whole time. He stood there with a loop pedal building the chords and beats and I was in awe. I have always been involved in music, piano, violin, but mostly I played cello for 6 years. I got to experience true musicianship and talent at this concert. It was for his divide album (3rd studio album), but admittedly he played quite a bit from the other two. My favorite song was 13 on the list and I sung my little heart out, Nancy Mulligan. As he left the stage, there were hopes for an encore that were quickly answered by him coming back out in an Atlanta Falcons jersey. He sang two more songs and then it was over, my first concert. Side note, James Blunt was the opener, but I maybe knew one of his songs so I was less interested in the moment.
Since then, I have had the pleasure of seeing quite a few concerts. Some people of note like Chris Stapleton, Noah Kahan, Niall Horan, Luke Bryan, etc. I love concertgoing and look forward to a future that looks and sounds musical.
NYT Connections Fan Scholarship
Categories from easiest to hardest.
Men's Wedding Attire (Loafers, Tie, Collared Shirt, Belt)
Items Needed to Dive (Snorkel, Mask, Fins, Suit)
Words that Rhyme with Tie (Die, Chai, Sky, Thigh)
Words that are Actually Acronyms (Laser, Scuba, Radar, GIF)
Personally, I play the NYT games nearly everyday and have for quite a while. Connections is one of my favorites and I pride myself on getting it with no mistakes. I wanted to create a puzzle worthy of the New York Times and I believe I did just that. It requires thought and attention. I did use a bit of misdirection and trickery in true Times fashion. I built categories off of others just to throw people off the scent and even taught myself something new while building it. Even growing up I was a puzzle nerd. I remember going to Dollar Tree with my grandmother and picking out Sudoku and word search books and being so excited to do them. Nothing beats helping her with those and the morning paper crossword. I carry these memories with me as I complete my daily puzzles, remembering where my love began. This was incredibly fun, I even made my friends play it to see just how well I had prepared it. I am excited to hear back and I hope you love my puzzle just as much as I do.
