Billie Eilish Fan Scholarship
Picking a top three out of Billie Eilish's songs is a hard ask, but to narrow it down I would say my top three songs are: Listen Before I Go, THE GREATEST, and SKINNY. Though I have been a fan since I was in elementary school I resonate more deeply with some of the newer songs because I am now able to connect my complex feelings with her lyrics.
I resonate with Listen Before I Go so much because that song is about depression and not wanting to live. When I was a couple years younger I struggled with depression very much so this song always had a place in my heart. I even danced to this song in my solo because I felt so seen and heard by it.
SKINNY is another song that resonates with me. I have always struggled with body image and the way my body looked. Through various eating disorders and the different treatment I have received through every size I am still the same personality and I want people to see that no matter my size. Specifically the line "But the old me is still me and maybe the real me and I think she's pretty". That line sums up my whole highschool experience. I am the same girl I am no matter my size and I want people to see that. I am not more proud of my self when I am a different size. I am still the same me.
And lastly, THE GREATEST. That song is the exact thing I am. My life is perfectly explained through that song. Growing up as a dancer I put so much passion into the sport and in the place I do the sport at but it's never rewarded or looked at. I have won time and time again, I never miss practice, I am a good dancer. But I never received any love or passion back from the coach I have danced with my entire life. The lines, "I waited, and waited", "Just wanted passion from you just wanted what I gave you", and "All my love and patience, unappreciated" sums up my exact situation with something I put all my time and energy into. It's draining but its my passion. So I will continue to be persistent and strive to be the best.

Bob Deats Memorial Scholarship for Education
I plan on giving back to my community through the future kids of America. I want to touch the lives of young kids to hopefully mold them into the best adults possible. Not only in school but in dance too. Other than my goal of becoming a school educator I want to become a dance educator at my own studio. I want to give back to the kids of America by teaching them the discipline and joy that dance brings.
To begin, One mentor that has really impacted my life was my third grade teacher Mr.Morris. He showed me the joy of teaching by letting me become his helper. I learned various lessons like the importance of equality in the classroom. Being a latin women myself I find it very important that educators maintain a healthy equal classroom in order to further the want and drive to succeed. Another mentor that has impacted my life is one of my dance teachers, Brianna Del Aguila. Ms. Aguila is a mentor who never doubted I can do something. That is something I will take with me in the classroom because I know the effects it has had on me. It instills more confidence, faith, and motivation in me.
To further that, I plan on carrying these things with me in my own classroom and paying it forward by always believing in my students and guiding them to success. Even when the student is in doubt I will never give up on them because I would never want a teacher to give up on me. Though some have it became a learning curve and now I know the effects it has on one's mind and self image which I never want to cause my future students.
Lastly, I plan to impart my own love of learning into the upcoming generation by loving every student. I will instill my 100% into every class and make the energy in the room happy. I want my future students to feel my joy when walking into the classroom. And I will make sure that happens through my attention to detail in every student and my carefully sought out assignments and activities each day. My goal is to guide students to love learning whether it is math or dance I want to potentially motivate these students into pursuing the subject or hobby they enjoy most through my various teaching methods and my undeniable love for the effort to better the education system.
