If I could create a nonprofit, I’d like it to be called “New Chance”. I’d the nonprofit to provide to those in need of a “new chance” at life. Animals and People. I could envision the nonprofit possibly helping people in war-torn areas who’ve lost everything, dogs and cats who were abandoned, abuse victims who had to leave everything, immigrants who have nothing and no one, or people in poverty who work endlessly but just can not seem to reach the life they dream of. “New chance” would provide the resources to those who seek a life of security and safety, which seem like they should be part of our natural rights, right? But many go to bed hungry, many don’t even have anything to sleep on, and so many more need a second chance in life. I think not only would the nonprofit positively impact society, it would revolutionize the world. There are many people in need of aid and assistance and a lot of them are on our street corners, our shelters, and even under our bridges. Not all people in need are abroad, but while they also need their fair share of help, a lot of those in need are struggling in our neighborhoods. So not only would the nonprofit help those across the globe, it would also help those who are local therefore making it internationally positive and impactful. :) If I could change one negative thing in the and my environment, it’s would be senseless violence. Hundreds of people are dying every day just from being at the wrong place at the wrong time, hundreds more are killed, abused, or worse just for existing. For not having done anything to deserve their suffering. I, myself, have not been a victim, but some people I’m close to have divulged their stories to me, heck! There are stories on the news everyday about the senseless and ceaseless violence that occurs in our country, our state, our cities, our neighborhoods even. Thousands have either experienced unneeded and unnecessary violence or have seen it. Victims are often silent and/ or silenced so not everyone can know their story. But there are so many, too many people who have come forward, who have spoken out, who have testified and nothing changes. Nothing significant changes. So if there’s one negative thing I would change about our environment, it would be the never ending struggle against senseless violence because there are too many good people that have had bad things happen to them without reason.

I refuse to believe that the words “I love you” are like birthday cake. Three words reserved for special occasions Only to be given out topped with candles and frosting at the perfect moment. I use the words “I love you” casually and recklessly sometimes, but I’ve found that birthday cake is better at midnight and “I love you” is better when you don’t hesitate, when you don’t wait for an occasion to say it. So here it is. I love you. And not in a special occasion kind of way, but on a coffee on a Tuesday kind of way. I love you in chalk on the sidewalk, and little post-it notes, and extra smiles when you come home. I love you in the language of everyday things. In seeing you at the end of each day and listening to every word you say. I love you in the language of birthday cake when it’s nobody’s birthday.
