I am passionate about education and how it can progress your goals. There is nothing a good education can’t help you get. I have always wanted to work somewhere in the medical field , it was just a matter of where. I’ve started out at the bottom as a CNA and hope to work my way up to a nurse and possibly further. I am a firm believer that you never stop learning.

My name is Victoria and I am 21, I have always wanted to play a roll in the medical field. My younger brother, Austin, has cerebral palsy and epilepsy after having a stroke in utero. So a vast amount of our lives have been spent in the hospital. Naturally, it’s where I’ve always wanted to be. After having many sleepovers on the hospital couches, talking with all the doctors we now know by name, and seeing all the tools they have to help people, I have always known there will be a spot waiting for me.
My biggest goal in life is to become a neurologist. The brain has always caught my attention but I want to better understand what happens, the different diseases and disabilities that stem from the mind. I want to be able to help people like my brother and help the families. I know how difficult it can be to not have any answers and to be in the line of a caregiver rather than a mom or sister.
I’ve stated my journey already, I want to work my way up. I have been a nursing assistant for almost two years and started my vocational nursing journey in February. I am currently in an accelerated program set to graduate in February of 2023! Following the LVN program I want to go into a BSN nursing program, and hopefully get into a physician assistant program to work my way up. I think starting from the bottom is important and shows you how hard each job is and the importance of working together to care for patients. I have always heard “Be the change you wish to see in the world”, I want to be apart of the change, help people who need it and help the families in the process.

“If it were easy, everyone would do it”
This quote has impacted me on a very positive way. It proves that nothing is easy but you can do it if you put your mind to it. If it were an easy career, the field would be full. Sometimes you have to push past the obstacles and commit to what you want regardless of how hard it is. It just always made me feel like nothing was impossible.
