"What do you want to be when you grow up?" Often, the answers I would hear from my classmates were astronauts, doctors, and teachers. But for me, the answer was always different. While my friends dreamt of exploring outer space or helping people with medicine, I imagined myself as the one solving crimes. The thought of a future filled with collecting evidence and bringing justice to crime has interested me for as long as I can remember. This desire, combined with my passion for helping others, has led me to seek a career in forensics, where both science and justice meet.
To achieve this goal, I am majoring in biology, which would provide me with the solid science background needed for this career. While in college, I plan to pursue any internships, research opportunities, and extracurricular activities accessible at my school, which will help me grow my skills and gain valuable experience in the field. This approach guarantees I will succeed and can only bring positive outcomes.
Throughout high school, I took classes to further my interest in this line of work. One of the most beneficial opportunities I was given is my current forensics class, where I can learn about crime scene investigations, evidence collection, DNA analysis, and many more valuable components. Additionally, I took Law Enforcement 1 & 2 and a government-based class to thoroughly understand the legal and law enforcement procedures that play roles in forensics. These courses showed me the cruciality science plays in solving crimes and providing justice, confirming the path I'm meant to follow.
My passion for forensics has inspired me to pursue ways to deepen my love for it and share this passion with others. I'm fortunate to be offered opportunities to speak about this field with younger children; creating an interest in this science in other kids has only strengthened my love for it. All of these experiences have further defined my vision for the future, so when given a chance to speak about my future ambitions, I have nothing but an attitude of determination and dedication.
In conclusion, my dream has always been to solve crimes, help victims affected, and make a difference in someone's life. Through my studies of biology and my commitment to forensics, I am taking every necessary step to turn this dream into reality. With a clear plan in mind and the steps I am taking to achieve it, I will succeed in this rewarding and impactful path.
