Your Dream Music Scholarship
Anytime I feel upset, frustrated or just in an odd mood. I go to my car and start to drive around town. I grab some food and start to play one specific song. "Treat people with kindness" by Harry Styles can change any bad mood. It is a reminder to treat everyone with kindness. This song has an upbeat feeling and has the power to unite people. Everyone can jam out to this song and still be left with a genuine message. This song is most important to me because it was the first song from Harry Styles that stood out to me. This single song knew how to lift my spirits and turn bad days into fun days. I can easily say this is my favorite song from Harry Styles. It was even put as my senior quote. Harry has helped me with hard times and his music has affected me for a long time. Not only does the song unite people, but the song also unites all types of people. Harry's fans are all over the world. They made up a dance for this song and they all dance together while this song plays at his concerts. This is a perfect message for people, to treat people with kindness. It can be found anywhere, and it is connected to a beautiful, powerful song.
Bold Growth Mindset Scholarship
Growth Mindset is the most coolest concept I’ve ever heard of. I never understood having a growth mindset until it came up in one of my leadership courses. Since then, I challenge and push myself to have a growth mindset. It’s very easy for me to switch to a fixed mindset during stressful or overwhelming scenarios.
I keep a growth mindset by reminding myself that what else could I learn today. I have a daily reminder of what things I have planned for the day and a quote notification goes with that everyday. It’s always positive and keeps me from feeling negative at the start of my days.
In those times of “I can’t do this,” I take a step back from the situation before I give up and think of ways I can do it or maybe I just need a bit more time. I usually listen to music to cool off any stress and get a snack just in case it wasn’t being hangry.
I surround myself with positivity from friends to entertainment and knowing to take my own pace with anything helps me realize that I am able to accomplish so many things in life.
Bold Patience Matters Scholarship
Everyone has different patient levels. As for me, I would say I’m a very patient person. This is because I have no idea what others are going through, so mind as well give them their time. Not everything will go to plan and I am able to understand that concept.
I went to a regular elementary school, with many students in the class. All of us didn’t have the same learning pace. Being able to understand that everyone is different can change a whole mindset.
Patience could be hard for me, in the case of running late or waiting to long to an order to come in. Giving others time could be helpful to them and myself because I don’t wanna feel anxious all the time. Also, people having patience for me, is incredible because they are giving me my space to work and making sure what I do comes out the best I could make it.
Bold Self-Care Scholarship
Self-Care has been challenging for me to say the least. There are so many ways to practice self-care and not there’s no certain way. As for myself, I take time alone to practice self-care. Often I feel the need to cry, just to let go of negative emotions being bottled up. To be successful in self-care, I think about myself in the important times. I do what makes me satisfied and understand that I have done my best. On certain days, I have a day for myself. I put on my favorite show, order some tasty food or some ice cream and relax. I make myself a excited to have those times to myself so I can recharge.
This practice impacts my life because I have a foundation. I am able to handle myself with the best interest in mind. I never want to be upset the whole day or be negative. So I set boundaries for myself. Being in charge of myself and taking care of myself is a reminder to live life the way I want to.
Bold Friendship Matters Scholarship
Friendship is so important in anyones life. Every kind of relationship should be best on a stable and healthy friendship. This could open doors to great life memories or gateways to big opportunities. Friendships include trust and encouraging people to be their best selves. They are experiencing every emotion with their best friend.
A little story that I would like to share would be that I’ve had many friends since elementary school. The kids that you play with on the playground and tell jokes to in the cafeteria. Overtime, I grew apart from those people and at one point, I didn’t have friends. I went to school, did my thing and went back home. It was lonely and a struggle to watch my classmates having the time of their times together.
Once I got into high school, I got myself involved in many clubs, sports and leadership on campus. I opened myself up to others and now I love the people around me. Being able to call them whenever I need help or just to have a laugh. I trust them and plan to keep them around.
