Jameela Jamil x I Weigh Scholarship
The person I can think about coming forward for would be my grandparents. Although it might not be big or might not be special my grandparents are going through a rough time right now which has required my family and the rest of my mom's family to cooperate in helping out our grandparents. More specifically my grandma has many health issues right now that has required my whole mom's family to be in charge of other and my grandpa so far. They've gotten rid of their apartment and they have been taken care of by all of their sons throughout these past two whole years. My mother and our family specifically have been the one that has been in charge of taking care of the majority of their necessities. Not only that now that there are problems rising between my mother and her siblings the responsibility and the care of my grandparents have started to fall more on our family. The impact the change has had on our life has been a big one. It's been hard but it has also been rewarding. The weight of taking care of them has started to take a toll on us since it's coming up on three years though because now that my mom's family has noticed that my mom is willing to take care of them they have started to weigh the care of our grandparents on us. It has been a not only huge but also drastic change that to this day has had a lot of accommodations. Especially now since there are more checkups pilling up because of the condition of my grandma. There has been uncertainty about who wants to keep taking care of her because there hasn't been any new news on the condition. Despite all of that helping them out has been something that we have been good about. We've gotten together more as a family now than we've ever been before because of the situation and I think it's just getting better than before. Overall it's been a big impact on all of us these past two years and on a personal level, I would say it has also impacted me a lot as well and made me realize just how much change one can make on small things like that. It's been a change that I think will continue to impact us for a while probably for another 4 or even more years.
