I have strived for this goal since I was in middle school and I am still driven to reach it. As a game developer or software engineer, my goal is to inspire kids like me growing to enter the field of technology because it is the future of mankind in terms of needs and entertainment. I am currently applying for the Markforged Distinguished Black Engineers Grant and the Team Black Empowerment Scholarship to help my endeavors in college.

I am a sophomore student in college rn. I love games, so I decided to make one. I want my first game to be a Metroidvania, inspired by the style of gameplay seen in the game Metroid and Castlevania. Unfortunately, I can't focus on making that with all the stress of college payments on my back. My family and I are currently finding it difficult to pay for my tuition in school. Getting this scholarship will help relieve how much I need to play this coming year. With that, I can focus on my studies and the project I'm building. The project will be my first step into my dream career of being a software engineer or a game developer. I would really love to have my dream be obtained with the help of this scholarship.
