I plan on pursuing my education through a trade school because it offers a focused, practical, and efficient pathway toward a career that aligns with my skills, goals, and learning style. Unlike traditional four-year colleges that emphasize broad academic coursework, trade schools concentrate on hands-on training and real-world applications. This approach allows me to actively learn by doing, which helps me better understand and retain information while building confidence in my abilities. One of the main reasons I am drawn to trade school is the direct connection between education and employment. Rosedale Technical College is designed around automotive careers, meaning the skills I learn will be immediately applicable in the workforce. Knowing that my education will prepare me for a reliable and respected profession, gives me confidence in this decision. Another important factor is the time commitment. Trade school programs are typically much shorter than traditional college degrees. Rosedale Technical College is a 16 month program that can be extended 12 months in other automotive areas, if i choose too. This allows me to enter the workforce sooner, gain experience earlier, and begin earning a steady income without spending several years in school. The shorter timeline also keeps me motivated and focused, as I can clearly see the connection between my training and my future career. Affordability is also a major reason I am choosing trade school. Compared to four-year universities, trade schools are generally more cost-effective, helping reduce student loan debt and financial stress. This allows me to invest in my education without placing a heavy financial burden on myself or my family. I see how frustrated my dad gets paying his student loan bill each month, and I dont want that to be me. Graduating with less debt means I can focus on building my career, saving money, and achieving long-term financial independence. Lastly, trade school aligns with my personal goals and strengths. Having ADHD, I enjoy working with my hands, solving practical problems, and seeing tangible results from my efforts. Trade careers offer opportunities for growth, specialization, and even entrepreneurship for those who choose to start their own businesses. My mother and father are both entrepreneurs in very different fields. I hope in the future to follow in their footsteps and someday have my own business. Pursuing my education through a trade school is a strategic decision that supports my desire for meaningful work, job security, and a clear, achievable path toward a successful future in the automotive world as an entrepreneur.
