Bio

Hi! My name is Twisha Patel, an incoming freshman at the University of Pennsylvania under the M&T program, and I am deeply passionate about using technology to create meaningful, real-world impact. Whether it's through robotics, healthcare, sustainability, or promoting inclusivity, I believe that innovation is most powerful when it's used to uplift communities. Over the past few years, I’ve been involved in projects that reflect this mindset. I co-founded Therapose, an AI-powered physical therapy app that was recognized by both the Congressional App Challenge and the Technovation Challenge. I’ve also competed in international and state-level science fairs and innovation pitch competitions, where I’ve focused on developing apps for connecting charities to donors, developing solutions to harvesting energy from falling water in household faucets, and designing biochar pods and wetland filtration systems to combat local environmental issues. As a founding member of my robotics team, I’ve helped develop autonomous systems that merge engineering with creative problem-solving while also hosting outreach events internationally to spread awareness about STEM opportunities. Beyond technical skills, I bring empathy, initiative, and a drive to turn ideas into action. I’m especially interested in interdisciplinary work, using tech not just for the sake of it, but to make systems smarter and lives easier. I believe I’m a strong candidate for scholarships because I’ve consistently taken the initiative to lead with purpose, tackle real-world challenges, and collaborate across disciplines.
