Bio

I am Tyrone, a dream chaser with a passion for aviation, navigating through life's challenges with the dream of becoming a pilot. Born into a low-income family, my journey in aviation spans seven years, marked by hands-on experiences being a flight attendant. Despite financial constraints, I've immersed myself in the world of flight, recognizing the underrepresentation of diversity in the aviation industry. Now, as I aspire to attend pilot school, I seek a scholarship not only as a means to break financial barriers but also to shatter the stereotypes black gay men can not be pilots or won't be accepted and promote inclusivity in the cockpit. My identity is a source of pride as I embark on this journey, knowing that diversity is crucial for the advancement of aviation. With your support, I aim to turn dreams into wings, proving that the sky is not the limit but the beginning of a transformative path for myself and others who share similar aspirations.

Hi, I am Tyrone most people call me Tj and I will be finishing College in Paris, France and would love the help of this origination to better equip me to follow my dreams. During my life, I have been the topic of many discussions, from being the only one diagnosed with Bipolar and "the gay" child in my family to be the only Bipolar black gay person in my whole county. The point is, I've grown from adversity having manic episodes can be terrifying. As well people don't seem to take you seriously or they think you are just a huge risk. My whole life I've been labeled crazy, eccentric and any other thing you can think of. I take pride in the fact that I used this outlook as momentum. It pushed me to begin college at 16 years of age and succeed in what I am now. Currently, I hold a degree in paralegal studies and recently have rekindled my love for medicine. I know is a huge difference but it truly shows how vast and unique my life and brain are, I truly just love the idea of helping anyone in need. What drives me is knowing I have the power to make a change and find ways to give back. See, I came from a poor family like most, but it can feel a bit different when you are also the black sheep for being gay and no one wants to help you no matter how much you lend a hand. It can be hurtful and dehumanizing not to mention crippling to most. However, that's not who I am. I am someone who is welcoming, nurturing and smart as a whip, I take joy in learning to grow and thrive. I look these disadvantages in the eye and remind them and myself who I truly am, what I can do and why I do what I do. All of this has pushed me into becoming a Doctor, specifically a Psychiatrist. I want to prove help for mental wellness for adolescence, create a safe place, a place for them to go and express themselves and know they are supported beyond belief. I eventually wanted to open up an anonymous phone line after graduating college and beginning my career, this phone line would allow for young gay children and teens to reach out and "come out", vent, and get advice from LGTQ+ certified therapists at no charge. I know this would be such a strong instrument to help prevent suicide, self-harm, self-hate etc. Just not feeling like an outcast alone would be a blessing for those not in a supportive home. I truly hope you can see my vision and understand why i need this help to better my future. Thank you.

I truly hope you can see my vision and understand why i need this help in order to better my future. Thank you.

Hi, I am Tyrone most people call me Tj and I will be finishing College in Paris, France and would love the help of this origination to better equipt me to follow my dreams. During my life, I have been the topic of many discussions, from being the only gay child in my family to being the only gay person in my whole county. The point is, I've grown from adversity, and I take pride in the fact that I used this outlook as momentum. Hello, My name is Tyrone. Most people call me "T.J" or "Tye". I am from a very tiny town in Mississippi. Truthfully, no one really leaves. When I first made the choice to leave home it was a huge shock to everyone around me. I initially left to become a flight attendant for a major airline. As of now, I am still employed with my airline. However, I have always been drawn toward the medical field. At a young age my grandmother passed away, and the reason for her death could have been avoided. She had fallen ill and reported it to her doctors numerous times. Following her seeking help she was told it was all in her head. To make a long sad story short. We found out in her autopsy that she had a large mass of cancer in her stomach which ended her life. Mistakes like this are too common in the medical field and I WILL be a leader to change this. I pledge that I will become a major cornerstone in the life of others, and give the best care, love, and attention to all of my patients. I know my power, capability, and strength. I will accomplish so much, I just need the support.

This journey in my life has always been an uphill climb. I am a young black/ interracial man from Mississippi. As far as hurdles and set backs I can name plenty. I grew up with a very sweet family on both sides. My late Grandmother, who happens to be the biggest part of my heart. She passed away due to cancer going undiagnosed for years. I remember the plentiful office visits and the doctors and staff brushing her off as just an "old women" and telling her all the pains were normal. After her passing I realized I never wanted another child to lose their best friend the way I had. I look forward to giving the best and most upright care possible. Finding truth, love and hospitality is my very core.
