Hello! My name is Trish Lee, and I am passionate about becoming a pediatric oncology nurse. My dream is to help children find their strength in the middle of difficult battles, while also showing them that hospitals can be places of warmth, compassion, and even hope. I believe nursing is not just about providing treatment, but about walking beside patients and families, giving them comfort, encouragement, and a reminder that they are never alone. What inspires me most about pediatric oncology is the courage and resilience children show in the face of illness. I want to be someone who not only supports their medical needs, but also lifts their spirits—whether that’s through a smile, kind words, or simply being present on their hardest days. To me, nursing is about healing both the body and the heart. I am currently an undergraduate student at North Hennepin Community College, working on my prerequisites and general courses as I prepare to transfer to pursue nursing. Every step of my education motivates me to stay focused and determined, because I know the end goal is standing at the side of my future patients, ready to offer care, strength, and compassion. My greatest hope is to one day make a difference in children’s lives by being a nurse who helps them feel safe, supported, and encouraged to keep fighting. This is more than a career path for me—it is a calling and a promise to be there for those who need it most.
