I was forced to grow up at an early age. Being only a child when 9/11 happened and having my father enter in to work with the government to help prevent such an atrocity from ever happening again; my parents divorcing a year later and being forced to live in a split family dynamic. Growing up with my mother having to do as much as she possibly could to provide and support me and my dad only home a number of days each month grew increasingly hard.
Fast forward to high school and I was selected for Varsity as a Sophomore in high school and had to decline as I was also selected to be apart of an academy team elsewhere. Multiple championships and college offers later, my coaching staff fell apart under circumstances best left unsaid for their sake and all offers were dropped. Dreams shattered and not sure of what to do I decided to dive head first into semi professional soccer and business life. I worked a high variety of different trades and jobs to find out what made me feel happy, like myself, and what I enjoyed. I coached kids at the ages of 3-5, 12-14, and 15-16 and once again fell in love with the sport. Unfortunately, I suffered one too many injuries in my dream to be a professional soccer player and would be forced to get surgery on my foot and shoulder if I wished to continue. On the other hand during this time I also found my new dream and wanted to pursue to the best of my ability.
Regardless of any accomplishments or mistakes I may have once had in my life; I know for a fact that I will strive to conquer any challenges placed in front of me to get there.

For much of my life, I believed that experience was more valuable than formal education. This belief led me on various adventures, trying to uncover what life had in store for me. Along the way, I discovered a passion for communicating with people, understanding the psychology behind interactions, and experiencing the thrill of helping others who didn't initially realize they needed it. This passion naturally drew me to sales, where I excelled and subsequently ventured into business, operations, marketing, and management.
With substantial experience under my belt, I decided to pursue a degree in business administration. My aim is to complement my practical knowledge with academic insights, mastering as many business concepts as possible. This education is a crucial step toward my future goals, which include starting my own businesses and establishing a nonprofit organization. Additionally, I aspire to earn a master's degree in psychology to deepen my understanding of human behavior and its application in the business world.
Balancing a full-time job while attending classes has been challenging. I have taken summer classes in addition to the regular fall and spring semesters, dedicating myself to finishing my degree early. This relentless pursuit of education is driven by my desire to advance within my company and eventually rise through the ranks. The financial aspect of this journey has been daunting, especially given the current economic climate. As someone who is entirely self-sufficient, managing the costs of tuition alongside other living expenses such as rent and insurance is a constant balancing act. With financial aid covering only a portion of my tuition, a scholarship would significantly alleviate this burden, allowing me to focus more thoroughly on my studies. It would not only help me achieve my academic and career goals but also provide much-needed peace of mind.
Despite these challenges, my determination remains unwavering. The discipline required to juggle work and study has not only enhanced my time management skills but also reinforced my commitment to my goals. I plan to leverage my degree to propel my career forward while continuing my education in psychology, a field that fascinates me deeply. Understanding the nuances of human interaction and motivation is not only essential for personal growth but also pivotal for driving success in any business venture.
Ultimately, my journey through education and experience is a testament to my belief in lifelong learning. By mastering both the theoretical and practical aspects of business and psychology, I am preparing myself to make significant contributions to my field. My vision includes creating innovative businesses, impactful nonprofits, and a tool to facilitate charitable donations, all aimed at enhancing the well-being of individuals and communities. Through these endeavors, I hope to play a role in building up America's morale and greatness during challenging times.
Once Upon a #BookTok Scholarship
Creating an ideal bookshelf is a deeply personal endeavor, and for me, it involves selecting works that resonate with my interests in history, fiction, future possibilities, and philosophical insights. Inspired by #BookTok recommendations, my ideal bookshelf includes a blend of these elements, reflecting a journey through time, imagination, and profound thought. The top three must-have titles on my shelf are "Illusions" by Richard Bach, "Prey" by Michael Crichton, and the essays of Ralph Waldo Emerson. These works not only represent my literary preferences but also illustrate the diverse themes that have significantly impacted the #BookTok community.
"Illusions" by Richard Bach is a seminal work that explores the nature of reality and the power of the mind. This book has had a profound influence on both my personal outlook and the #BookTok community at large. Bach’s narrative delves into the idea that reality is a construct shaped by our thoughts and beliefs. The story follows a disillusioned pilot who encounters a messiah figure, leading to a journey of self-discovery and enlightenment. For me, "Illusions" serves as a reminder of the limitless potential within each of us to shape our own destinies. It encourages readers to question their perceptions and embrace the possibility that life’s boundaries are often self-imposed. The #BookTok community has embraced this book for its inspirational message, with many readers sharing how it has helped them overcome personal challenges and adopt a more empowered mindset.
"Prey" by Michael Crichton is a techno-thriller that masterfully blends scientific detail with a gripping narrative. This book captures the imagination with its exploration of advanced technology and its potential consequences. The story revolves around a swarm of nanobots that evolve beyond their intended purpose, posing a dire threat. Crichton’s meticulous research and compelling storytelling make "Prey" a standout work that sparks discussions about the ethical implications of technological advancements. For me, this book represents the thrilling possibilities and dangers that come with scientific progress. It serves as a cautionary tale about the importance of ethical considerations in technological development. On #BookTok, "Prey" has captivated readers with its fast-paced plot and thought-provoking themes, leading to lively debates about the future of technology and its impact on society.
The essays of Ralph Waldo Emerson provide timeless wisdom on topics such as self-reliance, nature, and the human spirit. Emerson’s philosophical insights have long been a source of inspiration for me, encouraging introspection and a deeper understanding of the world. His essays advocate for individualism, self-improvement, and a harmonious relationship with nature. For instance, in his essay "Self-Reliance," Emerson emphasizes the importance of trusting oneself and embracing one’s unique path in life. This resonates deeply with my own beliefs and aspirations. The #BookTok community frequently highlights Emerson’s works, sharing quotes and reflections that inspire readers to pursue personal growth and authenticity. His essays continue to influence and challenge readers to think critically about their lives and their place in the world.
In conclusion, my ideal bookshelf, inspired by #BookTok recommendations, is anchored by these three transformative works: "Illusions" by Richard Bach, "Prey" by Michael Crichton, and the essays of Ralph Waldo Emerson. Each of these books offers a unique perspective on life, technology, and philosophy, providing a rich tapestry of ideas that stimulate both the mind and the soul. They represent not only my personal literary journey but also the broader impact of these themes on the #BookTok community, where readers come together to explore, discuss, and grow. Through these works, I find inspiration, cautionary insights, and timeless wisdom that guide my understanding of the world and my place within it.

Throughout my academic and professional journey, I have faced numerous challenges that have tested my resilience and determination. One significant instance of adversity occurred during my time as a Regional Sales Manager at Divine Solutions. This period was marked by the immense pressure to build and lead a high-performing sales team, triple company sales, and establish the company’s presence in a competitive market. Despite the difficulties, I was able to overcome these challenges through strategic thinking, hard work, and unwavering commitment to my goals.
When I first took on the role of RSM, I inherited a team that was struggling with low morale and inconsistent performance. The company was at a critical juncture, and the pressure to deliver results was immense. To address these issues, I knew I had to transform the team’s dynamics and implement effective sales strategies to drive growth. This was easier said than done, as the team was dispersed across multiple states, adding a layer of complexity to communication and coordination.
The first step was to build trust and rapport within the team. I scheduled regular virtual meetings to foster open communication, set clear expectations, and provide consistent feedback. I also introduced team-building activities to strengthen our relationships and create a supportive environment. This helped to boost morale and create a sense of unity, despite the geographical distances.
Next, I focused on refining our sales strategies. I conducted a thorough analysis of our sales processes, identified areas for improvement, and implemented new tactics to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. This included leveraging CRM tools to streamline communication and track progress, which significantly improved our ability to manage leads and close deals. I also provided targeted training to the team, ensuring that everyone was equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed.
One of the most challenging moments came when we set an ambitious target to triple our sales within a year. This goal seemed daunting, but I was determined to achieve it. I worked closely with my team to develop a comprehensive plan, breaking down the target into manageable milestones and celebrating each achievement along the way. We adopted a data-driven approach, using insights from our CRM tools to make informed decisions and adjust our strategies as needed.
Despite the hurdles, our hard work paid off. Within the year, we not only met but exceeded our sales targets, achieving record-breaking results. The highlight was a month where we secured 61 appointments and converted 20 of them into sales. This success was a testament to the team’s dedication, the effectiveness of our strategies, and our ability to overcome adversity.
This experience taught me valuable lessons about leadership, resilience, and the importance of strategic planning. It reinforced my belief that challenges are opportunities in disguise, and with the right mindset and approach, any obstacle can be overcome. This mindset has carried over into my academic pursuits, where I strive for excellence despite the demands of a rigorous course load. Maintaining a high GPA and aiming for honors at Arizona State University requires consistent effort and dedication, but the lessons I learned from overcoming adversity in my professional life have equipped me to tackle these challenges head-on.
In conclusion, the adversity I faced as a Regional Sales Manager at Divine Solutions was a pivotal moment in my life. It tested my abilities and pushed me to grow as a leader. Overcoming these challenges not only led to significant professional achievements but also shaped my approach to future endeavors. I carry these lessons with me, confident in my ability to face and conquer any adversity that comes my way.

Neal Hartl Memorial Sales/Marketing Scholarship
My journey into sales and marketing has always been driven by a deep-seated passion for helping businesses succeed. From my early experiences, I realized that many companies struggle to understand the intricate dynamics of marketing and how it interweaves through every aspect of their operations. This realization has been the cornerstone of my career and the primary motivation behind my desire to pursue further studies and growth in this field.
Throughout my professional journey, I have witnessed firsthand the transformative power of effective marketing strategies. While working as a Marketing Director at Divine Solutions, I led a team across multiple states, focusing on enhancing our digital presence and integrating technology into our marketing efforts. The challenge of optimizing our website, improving brand visibility, and ensuring seamless communication with national and statewide installers taught me the importance of a cohesive marketing strategy. It’s not just about physical versus digital marketing but understanding how various marketing channels and strategies work together to drive business success.
In my role as Regional Sales Manager, I had the opportunity to build a company from the ground up. Leading a high-performing team and tripling sales in consecutive years was a testament to the effectiveness of our marketing and sales strategies. This experience reinforced my belief that sales and marketing are deeply interconnected. Effective marketing lays the foundation for successful sales by creating awareness, generating interest, and nurturing leads until they are ready to convert. It’s a holistic approach where every step, from initial contact to closing a deal, is part of a seamless process aimed at achieving business goals.
My passion for sales and marketing also stems from a desire to start another business of my own. Having been involved in building a company, I understand the challenges and rewards of entrepreneurship. I’ve seen how strategic marketing can drive growth, create opportunities, and build lasting relationships with customers. My goal is to apply the lessons I’ve learned to my future ventures, using my knowledge and experience to create businesses that are not only profitable but also innovative and responsive to market needs.
What truly inspires me about sales and marketing is the opportunity to help other businesses understand and leverage these dynamics. Many companies struggle with the complexities of marketing, often treating it as an afterthought rather than a core component of their business strategy. I am passionate about educating businesses on how to integrate marketing into their overall operations, ensuring that every effort is aligned with their goals and objectives. By doing so, I believe I can make a significant impact, helping businesses achieve their full potential and driving economic growth.

Pursuing further studies in sales and marketing through this scholarship will enable me to deepen my knowledge, refine my skills, and ultimately help more businesses thrive in an ever-evolving marketplace.
Bold Learning and Changing Scholarship
I believe this to be of great importance to everybody, unfortunately not everybody feels this way. The difference of opinion can come from such small things as the mental state and mood someone is in at that exact moment, all the way to the upbringing and livelihood someone might have had growing up. Just because someone has a difference of opinion does not mean that they do not deserve have a place at your table or a say in your conversation. Since learning this I can attest to the fact that my life and my happiness has grown monumentally. I remember growing up that when politics, religion, sports, or even school was brought up, everyone always wanted to a say in it and there were always a clash of different stances on those conversations. I always felt like I was not being heard by those around me that were older. I understood the fact that I should respect my elders but great creations and ideas happen around us every single day; so why could I not get my opinion in on a conversation? Looking back on this I realize two great important details. One is that everything happens for a reason and the road I have taken to get to where I am is finite. The second is that it does not matter at the end of the day if you cannot get your word in on a conversation, as long as you can listen open mindedly to others, your own thoughts and beliefs do not necessarily need approval by others around you.
Bold Listening Scholarship
Since a young age, I had to learn how to listen to others around me in the world in order to better understand myself, my thoughts, and those around me. My sister is diagnosed autistic and while I may say one thing and mean what I am saying, at the same time, when she says the exact same thing she may be meaning something entirely different. I have learned how to focus on someone's body language and try to really listen to what they are saying in a number of different ways. It is not just the words that someone speaks that tell a story, it is the way they say those words and the way their body reacts while speaking them aloud to somebody. I believe that this has really helped me with relationships in day to day areas of my life as well as professional areas of my life as well. Every time I make a mistake in my life that has to do with communication I try to learn from it and notice how it happens to others as well. The only way to grow and truly be able to listen to someone is if you can listen to yourself and understand what it is that you want in life. What I want in life is to be able to understand and listen to everybody, because no matter the opinion or difference each individual deserves to be heard by someone.
Bold Make Your Mark Scholarship
A growing, socio-economic, change is happening in the world. It has been since the early 90's and transitioning into a new kind following September 11, 2001. I hope to help expand and achieve a new median to everyones lives across the entire globe. From the streets of Ghana to busy commuter cities like New York. Everyone deserves, as a basic human principle, to have food, water, shelter, and someone to talk to.
My father joined a branch of the Federal Government immediately following 9/11 that would protect everyone who continued and began to fly on airplanes across the entire world. Shortly after my parents divorced. My mother lost the house when I was at the young age of 6. I had a lively childhood of moving houses/homes more than 30 times between my two parents before I was even 18. I have seen hard times and lived through them myself in a number of ways. If this is a classic, to some, part of middle class society in America; then what is society like in other places of the world? Questions like these have brought me to where I am today.
I plan to launch more businesses, including nonprofits, before the age of 30 than anyone in my ancestry has before me. My goals and promises that I make to myself and to my friends, family, and fellow people in the world is that I will help them and I will not stop until- even for just a moment - smiles are seen across the entire world all at the same time.
