    Sabrina Carpenter Superfan Scholarship
I have always admired Sabrina Carpenter because of how she has grown into her own voice and fully stepped into her identity as an artist. She didn’t stay boxed into one version of herself; she evolved, took risks, and built a career that reflects her personality, creativity, and confidence. What stands out most to me is her ability to stay consistent while still reinventing herself and pushing her craft forward. Her career impacts me because it shows that growth is not always linear, and success comes from staying dedicated even when you’re still figuring things out. She reminds me that it’s okay to evolve, change direction, and keep improving instead of trying to be perfect from the start. That mindset really resonates with me as I step into college at an HBCU and start building my own path. It also inspires me to be more confident in my talents and not shrink myself to fit expectations. Seeing her own voice and presence encourages me to show up fully in every space I’m in academically, socially, and in leadership opportunities on campus. Overall, her journey pushes me to stay consistent, stay authentic, and keep leveling up no matter what stage I’m in.
    Clark Emerging Leaders Scholarship
A time I faced adversity was when my grandmother passed away right before my junior year of high school. That year was supposed to be a pivotal moment for college applications, academic performance, and overall preparation for my future, but her passing significantly impacted my focus, motivation, and progress. It was an emotionally difficult transition, and I had to learn how to keep moving forward while managing grief at the same time. Losing her created a gap in my daily life and sense of stability, and I had to adjust to functioning through both personal pain and academic pressure. One of the ways I worked through that period was by staying connected to something my grandmother deeply loved, singing. Music was something she always encouraged me in and took pride in watching me do. I auditioned for my first musical and earned the lead role. That experience became a turning point for me because it forced me to stay disciplined, show up consistently, and push through even when I did not feel my best emotionally. Rehearsals required focus, accountability, and commitment, which helped me redirect my energy into something productive instead of allowing grief to completely stall my progress. Being on stage and preparing for performances helped me rebuild structure in my daily routine and regain confidence in myself. Over time, I began to slowly improve my grades and overall well-being as I found balance again between my responsibilities and healing process. I also began to regain a sense of purpose, realizing that I could still grow even during a difficult season in my life. During this time, I also learned how important it is to lean on the support systems around me, whether that was family, teachers, or friends who encouraged me to keep going. Instead of isolating myself or allowing my circumstances to define my outcome, I made a conscious decision to use them as motivation to keep progressing. I began setting small goals for myself academically and personally, which helped me regain control and direction. Her passing also influenced my decision to attend Prairie View A&M University, the same institution she once attended. I felt deeply connected to her legacy and inspired by the path she once walked. Choosing that school allows me to carry a part of her with me as I continue my education. She taught me resilience, perseverance, and how to push through challenges even when life feels overwhelming. Those lessons continue to guide how I approach obstacles, and they are a major part of how I will continue to succeed in the future.
