My name is Trevaughn Sheppard, the third child of Dorothy Butler and Dewayne Sheppard. I am a first-generation college student. I'm currently a sophomore at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical Unvisierty. I am pursuing a degree in Aviation Business Administration, majoring in supply chain management in aviation and aerospace, and minoring in project management at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. To further my education, I decided to join the Army National Guard to help offset the cost of college and a productive member of society. I am the current president of Future Business Leaders of America; I'm also on the Student Advisory Board. I work on community engagement, Leadership, and teaching skills in FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America. I recently got selected to join the Business Eagles program, a highly selective undergraduate student organization within the O’Maley College of Business that exists to launch high-performing business students into the dynamic aviation, aerospace, and space industries. I need this scholarship in order to further my education at the O'Maley College of Business. This is because with my father passing away in December of 2021, my mother is not able to support me financially to accomplish my goals. With a family of 5, my mother is doing her best to support my siblings and me. To take the load off my mother, I took on the responsibility to pay for college myself so she can continue to raise my younger siblings. My short and long-term goals consist of graduating with honors and revolutionizing the aviation industry. I always had a strong passion for the aviation and aerospace industry and that is why I chose to go to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University to accomplish my goals. Boeing inspired me to pursue a degree in supply chain management. I plan to work as a project manager in the supply chain industry. I previously interned at Boeing as a Supplier Quality intern last year. It was a wonderful learning experience; I was required to oversee 17 Quality High School Interns as a project manager to offer support and leadership. Also, I conducted regular meetings to track the progress of their projects and provide performance feedback and appraisals. Maintain regular communication with senior management, providing them with updates on all improvement projects. In the near future, I dream of being the vice president of the supply chain organization at Boeing Defense, Space & Security.
