The trade of choosing that I decided to go into was HVAC, and Welding. Now I know the main question most people have is why choose 2 trades instead of just 1. Well my long-term goal is to master both trades and start my own HVAC/Welding company. The HVAC route has been in my family for a while. A little fun fact my grandfather Jimmy Turner Sr, was one of the first black HVAC technicians in Flint,MI. Before my grandfather passed away, he would show me different types of jobs he worked with HVAC, stringing from outside Coolant systems, to Central Air systems, to AC in a bus. I was always intrigued with the work he showed me and I wanted to do it every since I was young. The welding route I got more acquainted with as I got older. I vividly remember I was picking my aunt up from GM where she works, I went inside to help her grab food, they was having a celebration. I saw the robotic arm that is used for cars and the base of it had a perfect weld. I admired it for a minute and I thought to myself I want to do that. I became more than a fan I admired the work of welding. Now next you might ask what my experience with these. I currently am an apprentice at Allied Industrial group, a welding company who is partnered with GM. They weld the bases of what the robotic arm sits on. I got into them after meeting their supervisor at the church I do volunteer work at. At allied industrial groups I'm learning the basics of welding but I also plan on going to Mott community college to learn HVAC, and Welding. I know for a fact trades aren't going anywhere in a long time. I'll never run out of work by going into trades and I know the risk of my body health that can happen. I am more than certain Trades is the route I want to take, I see no other plan in my future. Trades have been in my family dating back to further than I can remember. My plan is to take the trades farther than my family ever has. I want to have a multi trade business offering multiple kinds of work that will overall benefit my community and even better the whole world.I live in a single parent household only making $65,000 a year so financial help is appreciated
