Being black means being strong, empowered, and embodying love. These core values pave my life’s path as I become an actor, director, and producer. I intend to use my talents to spread authenticity in a world that is driven by superficial standards. Inspiring black girls and women to be comfortable in their skin so they can pursue their dreams unapologetically is an important value of mine.
Growing up in a predominantly white community made me want to know more about who I am as a black person. An HBCU will grant me a family that educates me through my daily activities. The small class sizes give me an opportunity to receive personal training so I can get the most out of my time and money. At Florida A&M University, I will have a chance to comfortably learn about myself and my culture. This close-knit community propels each other forward into success and abundance and I aspire to engage in every aspect of it.
Once I soak up all the wisdom and experience from my HBCU, I will finally be able to release it into the world and inspire others. Through acting, dancing, and other creative endeavors, I will grow my platform and give others the confidence to make their dreams come true just like I will. I’m like a sponge; I soak all the wisdom and experience up and squeeze it out for others to soak up.
