The homeless man on the corner might be God so whenever you can help make sure you do because it might be a test from God. And my grandma meant that, I never saw her 1 time not give someone homeless at least a dollar. Now it has passed down to me to the point of where the last 3 years. On the night before my birthday I make up a lot of lunches. And the first thing that I do after I get up, dressed, and ready is go find a place to pass them out. It makes me happy and that's why I'm pursuing the degree that I, to help the homeless as well as people suffering from depression.
    Bold Reflection Scholarship
My life has been filled with numerous storms, starting from being molested at the age of 3. I had the same nightmare for years not knowing why. Until one day when I was 17 I asked my grandma why I was having these recurring dreams every night since I was a little girl. Her eyes opener up wide and she sat me down and told me that it wasn't a dream. She said that's the reason that I was taken from my mom and given to her, my aunt's ex husband was molesting me and she tried to keep it from me. Which I think hurt me for the long run because I never got counseling or anything. Now I have PTSD, on which has caused some very traumatic situations to transpire in my life. But I'm grateful that those situations did arise because it prepared me for all of the other obstacles that I've faced and will face in the life that I live.
Stefanie Ann Cronin Make a Difference Scholarship
I aspire to make a positive impact in the world by opening up a center focusing on helping people going through depression, get through it. Primary depression being post partum being that I've unfortunately battled multiplayer times being that I have 9 kids. The last 6 kids were premature and I had them back to back only skipping 1 year. Also losing a twin in the process, which caused me to have a extreme case of post partum. I almost allowed it to destroy my family by ignoring what it was that I was feeling, and not taking the steps to overcome it until it was almost too late. In my opinion there's too many people with depression that keeps it in, till it comes out in a very negative way. I've always been someone that loves to help people because it makes me feel good. That being said I wanted to somehow incorporate a place for homeless to eat and get the resources to help them try and get on their feet. It just really saddens me to see so many people living on the streets that even if I could help 1 or 2 I'll be satisfied!
Giving Back to the Future Scholarship
I have 9 kids and I'm from Reno,NV. I was raised by my grandma who raised me since I was 3. I love to help people.I feel giving back is important for our people because it lets them know that there are still people in the world with humble hearts. And I feel it will make them feel important and special. It might also make them want to do the same. I plan to give back to my community by opening up a center to help people with depression and also somehow incorporate it to where I can feed and clothe the homeless. Also help them with resources. There's so many people in the world with depression that doesn't know where to even start to get through it. And lord knows there's just way too many homeless people everywhere it's so sad
