Hey! My name is Sayat, and I’m a determined first-year student at UT Austin pursuing a Finance Degree. I thoroughly enjoy interacting with others and finding solutions to problems, so Strategy Consulting and Financial Services are future career outlooks for me.
I’m involved in a variety of extracurriculars, as the Marketing Director of TaskFormer, Financial Director of the Central Asian Society, and Financial Analyst at the University Finance Association. Additionally, I have interned within the Financial, Marketing, and Consulting sectors at companies such as JCPenney, Hasbro, RightNow Media, CTRL Sheet AI, and Westlake Securities.
Aside from work, you can usually find me playing Tennis, making original RNB Music, or dancing at local swing dance competitions.

Whether it was through social media or creating physical advertisements, I was enamored by how something so simple as improving the visibility of a business through marketing could substantially increase sales and improve its public image. However, when I came to UT I noticed the resources for marketing weren't as developed as finance and accounting. After joining a few marketing organizations with little success in finding a leadership position, I realized I would have to build my experience through personal endeavors.
I teamed up with a close friend of mine to start “TaskFormer,” an organization set to provide student startups with both funding and exposure. This motivation to not lose my love for marketing ended up helping TaskFormer receive close to 100 different startup applicants and over 400 willing interns. This is when I started my position as Marketing Director of TaskFormer, where I would help these upcoming businesses through my knowledge of guerilla marketing tactics as well as grow the organization by holding meetings with various investors. This need I felt to keep pursuing marketing resulted in the creation of a new ecosystem of entrepreneurial support UT hadn’t seen before.
In the future, I plan to use the skills I have acquired from working with various startups in order to spotlight sustainable businesses, grassroots environmental efforts, and eco-friendly energy startups that often get ignored by large funding. By marketing them and helping them gain traction with the right audiences, I can contribute to improving the world and give opportunities to the communities they serve.
One specific goal I have is to partner with green startups and environmentally responsible companies that heavily focus on reducing the carbon footprints caused by humans. I'm a fan of promoting clean energy and have had plenty of experience learning about various ways clean energy can benefit the community. I want to bridge the gap between impact and costs by making sure good ideas can thrive in public spaces. I have directly seen how my own neighborhood has become less populated with trees with new homes being built and roads destroying beautiful fields of grass. I want to change how society views the use of earth’s landscapes.
The most rewarding part isn’t just the metrics, it’s knowing that my efforts can help build a more sustainable, resilient future. My experiences gave me the opportunity to learn how to benefit communities, but my motivation solely comes from my want to help groups who are struggling.

In the last couple years I have taken my dream of becoming an internationally known artist to heart, pushing myself to fulfill that dream every day. At 10 years old I was busking the streets trying to give the best performance I could to strangers, which would eventually lead me to get scouted to perform at the six flags main stage. I became a regular act during the holidays and by the age of 12 I had been invited to join a management group seeking young talent in the music industry. Eventually I would become a signed artist to a subsidiary company of Def Jam Records, who offered me everything I could imagine, whether it was studio time or the best producers and audio engineers. During this time, I released only a few songs, with great results. This would lead the label to ask me to resign, however, the contract asked me to give up rights to 100% of my music. Although it could have guaranteed that my music would be recognized, with no chance to change my ownership options, I chose to reject the contract. Since then I have been motivated to succeed in the music industry independently, as no matter the popularity I gain or fans I make, I will never let someone take the songs I hold most precious to me. After making the choice to pursue my independent path with music I fell in love with marketing my self. Whether it was through social media or creating physical advertisements, I was enamored by how something so simple as improving the visibility of a business through marketing could substantially increase sales and improve its public image. However, when I came to UT I noticed the resources for marketing weren't as developed as finance and accounting.
