After twenty years working as a truck driver, I am completely changing paths to pursue a Mechanical Engineering degree at ASU. Following the sudden loss of my daughter Naomi in late 2023, I became the sole parent and guardian for my grandson, Messiah. Raising a child with ADHD on my own with no support system means traditional driving jobs no longer work. I carefully balance my intensive coursework when he is at school or asleep, and I rent a car to drive for Uber during semester breaks to keep us afloat. I am determined to build a stable future for my grandson and show him that no matter what life throws at you, you keep moving forward
