When I’d ask my parents how they would describe me as a child, they would never say short of being curious. Often they’d find me staying up at night trying to figure out topics like how the human brain functioned or how the immune system operates. They responded delightfully about my innate curiosity. In hearing their answer, I don’t regret the interest I developed for these topics. They foreshadowed how I would strive to learn more about biology and chemistry, often by coming to school early for tutoring or by my constant all-nighters. As I progress in my adolescent years, I hope to bring my interests with me for the future. It pains me to realize how many individuals struggle with the lack of efficient healthcare. I hope to see myself becoming successful as a medical physician and treating those who have financial hardships.
