I’m not really one to be active in causes but before I had my daughter, I was very big on the cause we had in our city to end homelessness and help aid them. I would volunteer to feed the homeless, donate to shelters and help keep them warm during the winter with blankets food and coffee. Being awarded this scholarship helps me feel a little more secure about the financial situation I will be in once graduating and getting a job in my field. I appreciate the opportunity to submit an application. I am currently holding a 4.0 gpa in college and been on the deans list twice. I am doing my best to succeed and keep my head up. So far, I am doing great, but I have seen how school debt impacts students’ futures when it comes to making sure tuition or loans are paid. My hero is my daughter. When I say she is my hero I mean she saved me from myself. Before I had her i didn’t think about my life and had no ambition. I didn’t plan to grow up and I was gonna always depend on someone else. Now she depends on me and tells me she loves me. She tells me how proud she is and I say the same to her. I love my baby and I love the influence we put into each other. It’s because of her that I decided it’s time to make a better life for both of us and I am going to do my best to make my daughter proud and give her the life I never have. I want her to live better than I ever did and to know that working hard and striving for better is what give results. Getting this award means I’m closer to my goals and have a little less to worry about. I can continue to focus on my studies with more ease and I can keep working towards success and the career I chose to have and am glad I chose. This would be my first ever scholarship since I have started school in June 2025. I don’t see many people get scholarships where I am from unless you go to the school near us, but I will keep applying and will not give in. Thank you so much for this opportunity to share my experience, my life, and my thoughts in this application.
Taylor Swift Fan Scholarship
I feel like her performance of you need to calm down is the most moving. She is showing that there are all kinds of hate and that its up to us as people to let it go. Expressing all types of love and happiness could all be accepted if people would just relax and enjoy life. Its a song about anti-hate and negativity and that’s exactly what people need to hear and understand. All this anger and meaningless negativity is stressful and unnecessary. In this world, we all deserve better and need to do better. We need to show we can support each other and that song shows exactly that. People of all shapes, sizes, shades, and walks of life are united for happiness. It’s a strong song for me. I also loved how vibrant she did the outfits when she did the song at the MTV award show. Everybody was happy and the moves were going. I did like the food fight in the music video too. I have grown up with taylor swift’s music since teardrops on my guitar and i can say she really raised my emotions musically. I will always love taylor swift. Thank you for the opportunity to share this with you.
Women in Healthcare Scholarship
I chose to do billing and coding for my career in school choice because I can work from home and spend more time and my life with my daughter. I also love helping people and the best way to help people is to build a career in the medical field. It is healthcare that helps everything in our lives move smoothly. With me choosing to get an associates degree in billing and coding, I can help others in the best way I know possible and become successful and financially stable to give my daughter a better life than I ever had. We need more people in the healthcare system to build a better and healthier life for our neighbors, family, and community. I also want to be able to give my daughter better opportunities and experience life in a way i didn’t get to because I had to stay home and help care for my siblings and grandmother. I want to show her that education and determination is the way to get where you want to be. I love to learn and I love becoming more educated every day. I like to make sure that each day I learn something new and if I don’t learn something new, I will recap what I’ve already learned before. I would like to teach my daughter that as well to motivate her to be better than me and have more success and opportunities than I ever had. I used to want to be a veterinarian and that changed to wanting to be a CNA nurse. I learned what that means and what they have to do and I absolutely cannot do that, but I do make sure that anytime I see a nurse, a doctor, or anyone else in the medical field, that I tell them thank you for your service. Not too many people understand what people in the healthcare industry go through and experience while still turning around and helping us. They don’t get enough appreciation, but they also don’t give up. And I will not give up on my work in my field of choice. I will show my daughter that we can succeed and giving up on your future is not an option. Thank you so much for the opportunity to request the scholarship. Even if I don’t win the scholarship I hope it brings inspiration to you or others.

Education is whats moves the world. Without education the world doesn’t get better and as humans we can’t become better than we were before. I accept all education that can be given to me and i take it seriously. I am going to Ultimate Medical Academy to become a medical coder to insure that patients are taken care of correctly. Anyone taking education should understand that we hold the key to a better world and safer world for others. I hope to make this happen and show my daughter that life is all about opportunities and to take those opportunities and risks to become a better and more educated person. I want my child to have the live I didn’t and am determined to do so. I want her to provide that guidance to her kids in the future and so on. I didn’t get to go to college at the beginning because I had to give all of that up to take care of my grandmother and my brother who is autistic. It was hard knowing I let that go and I had given up on myself. I was the person jumping from couch to couch or place to place. I found out I was pregnant and it made me realize I had to make changes. I stopped smoking and drinking, I worked hard and I am aiming to improve myself and our lives. I now take care of her, my brother, and myself. When she was 2 years old, I began to start the process of educating her. I made sure every day, no matter how I felt, that she learned something that day. Now my child is 4 years old and she reads books, loves art, likes to play sports, and occasionally watch educational videos. I love the idea of education and I feel in my town it is not pushed enough on our youth. Even our preschools and early childhood education classes have a limit on how much they teach and i have worked hard to self educate my child to be ready early. I want her to be ready to take on this world one class at a time and keep her head up. I believe she will succeed and i hope and pray that the love for education I have passes along to her children and so on. I’m excited to see how her future blooms. Going forward I will strive to teach her and get as much education as I can.

It was hard being the oldest of five and i could see how being a single mom was to my mother. She is the sweetest and most gentle woman I've ever known and I couldn’t have a better mom. She still does what needs to care for my brother who is autistic. I also help her with him as well and even with her sickness, she stays strong and keeps going and that inspires me every day to keep my strength and work hard to give my baby a better life. Now that I'm a single mother I feel what she went through and it has made me stronger and believe in myself. It wasn’t the goal to be a single mother, but i had to get away from the domestic violence i experienced while i was still pregnant with my child. I changed myself so much. Before i found out i was pregnant, i was the friend who slept on your couch and did nothing with my life. Knowing i was pregnant made me realize i couldn’t do that anymore. I had to step up as an adult and do better so my child can live a good life. I will not allow my daughter to struggle and miss out on life as my mom and sisters did. Im pursuing my education to give a better life for her and myself. I like to teach my child that education is the secret to a better life. She’s four now and loves to read books. I am currently working on my associates degree in billing and coding, i work and take care of my brother, and every day still try to find time to spend with my baby by end of day.

It was hard being the oldest of five and i could see how being a single mom was to my mother. She would have to take money from one bill to pay the other, get food from church because we had none, and sometimes sacrifice her whole day to take us back and forth to appointments and wherever we wanted to go. My mom is the type of person to not give up and to make sure even if she has nothing, that we had everything we needed. She doesn’t know, but sometimes i’d hear her crying in her room because she stressed or tired and as the older child it made me want to contribute and realize that i should appreciate her more. When she would go to work, i would make sure the kids eat, do their homework, and are clean and in bed before she comes home from work so she has nothing to stress about when she gets there. My mom deserves so much better than the life she lived and experienced.
