    Filipino-American Scholarship
    I was raised as a Filipino-American in Raleigh, North Carolina, and have always had a keen awareness of the advantages and opportunities that come with being born in the country. My parents, who are both native Filipinos, moved to the US in quest of a better life and sacrificed a lot to support our family. I feel obligated to give back and have a positive impact on other people's lives because of the obvious contrast between my life and that of my relatives in the Philippines. I'm studying computer engineering because of this calling, and my long-term objective is to use technology to better the social circumstances of low-income families like my own. My identification as a Filipino-American has informed not only my educational and professional goals but also my values and hobbies. I have always been fascinated by the tales of the trials and accomplishments of my family since I am quite proud of my cultural history. I have learned the value of resiliency, perseverance, and the strength of community through my mother's voyage to the US, my father's commitment to his career as an airline mechanic, as well as my own experiences negotiating the difficulties of growing up in a community that is predominately non-Filipino. The growth of Filipino musicians like H.E.R. and Olivia Rodrigo in American popular culture, as well as the accomplishments of noteworthy Filipinos in a variety of sectors, including technology and engineering, have motivated me in recent years. This has further heightened my desire to represent the Filipino community as a strong voice in the digital sector and make sure that our experiences are valued and acknowledged. I'm committed to promoting Filipino pride, particularly in the realms of technology and innovation, while I complete my studies, work towards my dream of becoming a computer engineer, and push for social change. I think I can contribute to dismantling barriers and promoting a broader awareness of the distinct difficulties and strengths of the Filipino-American community by sharing my narrative and striving to open doors for others. Being Filipino-American has had a significant impact on my sense of purpose in life by inspiring me to work hard and use technology to change the world in meaningful ways. I think I can help create a more just, equitable, and inclusive society for everyone if I respect my cultural background and use my skills and passions to help others.
    Taylor Swift ‘1989’ Fan Scholarship
    My favorite tune from Taylor Swift's 1989 album, "Blank Space," stands out for several reasons and is a recognizable and famous song in the pop music landscape. I, along with many other fans around the world, have been emotionally moved by the song's catchy rhythm, intelligent lyrics, and poignant message. Here, I'll go into detail on why Taylor Swift's legendary song "Blank Space" has won my heart and continues to be a standout in her discography. First and foremost, it's impossible not to like the song due to its catchy melody and pop feel. The catchy melody and high tempo combine to provide a lively and interesting listening experience. "Blank Space" is an excellent example of Taylor's ability to maintain her distinct songwriting approach while morphing from her country roots to a more mainstream pop sound. The song captures listeners' attention and lingers in their heads long after it has stopped playing because of the seamless fusion of electronic sounds and memorable hooks. Second, "Blank Space" has tremendously brilliant and provocative lyrics. This song is another example of Taylor Swift's remarkable songwriting abilities, which are well-known. Taylor criticizes how the media portrays her relationships and her alleged "serial-dater" character in witty, sarcastic, and self-aware lyrics. Taylor's propensity to make fun of herself and the public's image of her love life is demonstrated in lines like "Got a long list of ex-lovers, they'll tell you I'm insane" and "But you'll come back each time you leave, 'cause darling I'm a nightmare dressed like a daydream." The song is not just entertaining but also intellectually interesting due to the tongue-in-cheek lyrics' layer of depth and complexity. Additionally, "Blank Space" contains a potent message on the significance of owning one's story. Taylor Swift utilizes the song to take back control of her narrative and contest how the media portrays her love life. She exposes the silliness of these designations by adopting and exaggerating the stereotype of a "man-eater" or a "serial dater," and she shows her fortitude in the face of frequent criticism. Her strength and confidence are showcased in the song, which encourages listeners to speak up for themselves and take charge of their own stories. The "Blank Space" music video, which features a visually magnificent and theatrical representation of the exaggerated ego Taylor Swift represents in the song, enhances the song's impact further. Taylor's riveting performance, the lavish backdrop, and the eye-catching costumes all combine to make the video a spectacular visual experience that perfectly matches the sound and message of the song. "Blank Space" is my favorite song from Taylor Swift's "1989" album because of its uplifting message, great music, and clever lyrics. The song displays Taylor's extraordinary musical talent and her deft handling of criticism. "Blank Space" is a genuinely memorable song in Taylor Swift's musical career because it serves as a reminder of the value of controlling one's narrative and remaining resilient in the face of difficulty.

    I have always been drawn to initiatives that deal with urgent social concerns because I am enthusiastic about having a positive impact on the world. Substance Use Disorder is one such subject that has caught my attention. As I firmly think that education and support are crucial elements in the struggle against addiction, I am deeply committed to spreading awareness about SUD and assisting those in recovery. I have had excellent experience connecting and speaking with individuals in an educational setting because of my previous volunteer work at elementary schools and libraries. Additionally, my participation in numerous sports throughout high school has taught me the value of cooperation, tenacity, and resilience—all qualities that are vital in helping those who are battling with SUD. I intend to do the following to spread awareness of substance use disorder and have a positive impact on the world: 1. Continue my education: I want to sign up for classes, go to seminars, and take part in workshops about SUD and its treatment. This will provide me with the information and abilities I need to support persons affected by this complicated issue and teach others about it in an effective manner. 2. Volunteer at treatment facilities and support groups: By devoting my time and effort to helping people recover, I will be able to obtain firsthand knowledge of the difficulties they encounter and the assistance they need. This will help me comprehend their demands more fully and create efficient instructional tactics. 3. Arrange public awareness campaigns: I intend to design and carry out public awareness campaigns using a variety of channels, including social media, regional occasions, and community forums. These advertisements will work to dispel common misconceptions about SUD, advance empathy and understanding, and urge people to get care when they need it. 4. Collaborate with neighborhood schools and groups: To create and conduct educational presentations and workshops on SUD, I will engage closely with educational institutions and community organizations. These initiatives will focus on educating and empowering students, teachers, parents, and other community members. 5. Policy change advocate: I'll work to use my voice to sway legislation and policy about SUD and its treatment. To handle this problem more effectively and compassionately, I support additional financing, better access to treatment, and the de-stigmatization of addiction. 6. As I spread awareness about SUD, I will also concentrate on offering advice and inspiration to those who are in recovery. I'll contribute to building a helpful network that enables people to beat addiction and start over by sharing resources, lending a sympathetic ear, and celebrating their victories. By teaching others about substance use disorder and assisting those in need of recovery, I hope to have a long-lasting good impact on the world. I wish to contribute to a more understanding and supportive culture where addiction is treated with empathy and recovery is recognized by arming people with knowledge and understanding.
    @normandiealise #GenWealth Scholarship
    The idea of building and maintaining a solid financial foundation not only for myself but also for my future family and descendants is known as generational wealth. Building a legacy of monetary security and achievement that can be handed down through the generations is the goal. As a first-generation college student, I am acutely aware of the struggles my family endured to give me the possibilities I have today. By teaching my children these ideas, I can make sure they have the information and resources needed to manage and increase their money, encouraging a cycle of monetary success within the family. 5. Estate planning: As my fortune grows, I will work with seasoned money managers to create a thorough estate plan. This strategy will guarantee that my assets are transferred to my children and future generations in the most secure and tax-efficient way possible, protecting their financial future. 6. Volunteerism and philanthropy: I am a strong proponent of giving back to the community and assisting causes that share my ideals. In addition to providing opportunities for those in need, I intend to donate a percentage of my fortune to philanthropic organizations. By doing this, I will spread the benefits of my generational wealth beyond my close family and help to ensure a better future for everyone. I want to leave behind a legacy of generational riches that will help my family and the larger community for a long time by concentrating on these six areas. This strategy will enable me to leave a long-lasting, beneficial legacy on society while simultaneously ensuring the financial security of my heirs.

    Since its creation in 1787, the United States Constitution has served as a beacon for countless American generations. It has served as the framework for the country's legal system and has continuously changed to meet the changing requirements of society because it is a living document. I am incredibly passionate about the Constitution and the values it upholds as a first-generation American because they have given my family the chance to seek a better life in a country of liberty and justice. My love for the Constitution stems from its capacity to safeguard the basic liberties and rights of every citizen, regardless of background. For instance, the Bill of Rights protects people from governmental overreach and upholds fundamental liberties like the right to free expression, the right to practice one's religion, and the right to a fair trial. These rights are necessary for promoting a fair and just community in which everyone can prosper. Additionally, throughout American history, the Constitution has been a potent driver for advancement. With the passage of the 13th, 14th, and 19th Amendments, slavery was abolished, equitable protection under the law was established, and voting rights were widened, respectively. Walters Foster Care Scholarship
    My story of overcoming adversity started with the challenges I faced growing up in an immigrant family. My parents moved to the United States from Vietnam with the hope of providing a better life for their future children. As they struggled to adapt to a new culture and language, I witnessed their resilience and determination firsthand. Their experiences taught me the importance of perseverance and self-reliance, lessons that would prove invaluable later in my life. As I grew older, I encountered my own set of challenges. I faced discrimination and stereotypes within my school and community, and it often felt like an uphill battle to prove myself and break through the barriers that others had set for me. These experiences forced me to develop a thick skin and a strong sense of self-worth. I learned that I could not allow the opinions of others to define me or limit my potential. In addition to these external challenges, I also faced personal adversity. My family went through financial difficulties, which put a strain on our relationships and caused tension at home. However, these hardships brought us closer together, and we learned to rely on each other for support and encouragement. Through these trials, I have emerged as a stronger and more capable individual. I have learned to appreciate the value of hard work, determination, and resilience, and I am now able to face life's obstacles with confidence and grace. I have also developed a deep sense of empathy for others who are struggling, and I am committed to using my experiences to make a positive impact on their lives. The Wright brothers are generally credited with being the first to achieve powered flight, but there were others before them, such as Otto Lilienthal, Percy Pilcher, and Octave Chanute. What is it about the Wright brothers that made them the first to succeed? The Wright brothers were the first to truly understand and exploit the principles of aerodynamics. They conducted extensive wind tunnel testing and developed a deep understanding of how air flows around wings. This allowed them to design wings that were much more efficient than anything that had come before. They also developed a new method of controlling an airplane in flight. Previous attempts at powered flight had used weight shifting to control the plane. The Wright brothers developed a system of using wing-warping to control roll, which was much more effective. The Wright brothers’ achievements were truly remarkable, and their airplane was the first practical one that could be used for transport. It laid the foundation for the development of the modern aviation industry. They are fascinating machines that allow us to travel great distances in a relatively short amount of time. They are also a great way to see the world from a different perspective.
