Hi! I am Thea, I'm in my first year of college and I work my hardest to succeed in everything I do even if it takes me a few tries! I used to think I wanted to be an architect, then a dentist, and a few other things in between but I have realized my passion for engineering. As a middle schooler, I became one of the first people on our school's robotics team where I became fascinated with everything about it. Robotics has exposed me to some amazing technologies, career paths, and people who are rooting for me to succeed. I've also played tennis for as long as I can remember and it has truly had its part in shaping me as a person. I have learned grace, patience, and how to use positivity as a strength. I am currently majoring in Mechanical Engineering and minoring in Math and Electrical Engineering. I worked hard my whole high school career to help prepare myself for college by taking dual credit classes, soaking up all the information I can, and working an array of jobs that didn't relate to each other in any way to expand my horizon. In college, I am kept busy as Treasurer in a student organization, coaching amazing middle schoolers in robotics and tennis, and spending lots of time on interesting and challenging classes. After college, I hope to love what I do every single day so it never feels like work.

I want to be an engineer but not just any engineer. I want to become an Electrical Engineer maybe even a Mechanical Engineer too. I used to think I wanted to be an architect, then a dentist, and a few other things in between but I have realized my passion for engineering. Figuring out how things work and fit together and accomplish tasks fascinates me. I initially chose Mechanical Engineering but I wasn't sure if I was the right kind of creative for that line of work so I changed my focus to Electrical Engineering. This field of engineering appeals the most to me because of the wide range of opportunities that come with it. I could work on power sources for phones or create the lighting systems for airplane runways. Everything about the field has me in awe. Electrical engineering will give me the opportunity to expand my knowledge but also allow me to ask much more complex forms of my favorite question, "How?". With such a wide variety of job options, I could do almost anything I want. Because of this, I will be able to fulfill one of my most important life goals, enjoying work so much that it doesn't feel like work.
