I am a first-generation college student and a proud sophomore at Washtenaw Community College, recently accepted and committed to the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. Transitioning into the Mechanical Engineering program at UMich is the next step in a journey defined by resilience and a passion for innovation. Growing up in a single mother household, I learned the value of hard work and the importance of creating my own opportunities. As an African American woman in STEM, I am driven to not only excel in my field but to pave the way for others who share my background. My goal is to leverage my engineering degree while proving that your beginnings don't define your destination.
