Bio

Currently as a senior at Sheyenne High School in North Dakota, my goal is to achieve the best education I possibly can for Diesel technology. I have taken all of the diesel classes at my high school and absolutely love working hands on. I toured as many diesel related companies in the area as I could but stuck with John Deere (RDO). I have been interning with them since February of 2022 and continue to intern with them!

Lorraine Belcourt Love in the Community Scholarship
I am enrolled in National Honors Society, however, before I was a participant in NHS I volunteered for local animal shelters and created fundraisers for them as well. I started the idea of two fundraisers for two separate animal shelters during my middle school academics at Liberty Middle School. My two friends and I were able to raise up to $1,000 for the animal shelters. The shelters had reached out to us and asked to go to pet stores to buy beds and toys for incoming animals! On my own time outside of school I had volunteered at Homeward animal shelter for the summer in the kitten room at the age of 16. I would be in charge of watching the kittens and playing with them. The few examples of volunteering during NHS include family night for Independence elementary, Red River Valley Fair agriculture informer, diesel experience for the kids. I also have created a diesel club at my high school and one of the tasks I love to include is volunteering. I have worked with many diesel related companies to find new and interesting volunteer opportunities for my club. One of my two jobs is Edgewood vista retirement living, while this is not a volunteering time, I still have opportunities to help the elderly after work hours if they need help finding their way to their room or if they just want someone to talk to! Throughout my life I have been told by others around me that I am a considerate person that puts others first. I would like to accept their compliments by giving back to my community and grow relationships with others as well. I have met many amazing new friends along the way just from volunteering in different settings and am excited to meet many more! When I go through my things once or twice a year I try my best to donate as many things of mine as I can to those who may not be able to afford toys and clothes. I also love to donate to my local churches my time and money towards families in need. In past years I have worked in the church kitchen and spent hours after school baking for funerals and other church related activities. I enjoy volunteering in positions where I can inform the public and possibly spark new interests for children! I hope to continue to volunteer for my community after high school!
